• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    West Coast Spyder Event... interested??

I'm not sure if I'm registered or not. It said the registration was received, but when I went to pay only US, not Canadian, paypal was accepted. I have purchased lots of American products and this is a new one on me. Anxiously awaiting confirmation, will pay by any method!

Our little Sylvie Bee, is no more

I know the feeling. we lost our bull terrier, Beau, a few years ago. A real character, and he feared no dog. He dragged me around the living room by my thumb once. I loved that dog, but I'll never own another one.

    Bike leaning??

Well, so long as you got the right part, I guess it worked out OK. For what it's worth though, I think you had it right in the first place and the techie was quoting a typo on the microfiche. In the BRP manual chapter on steering, under the heading "Tie-rod installation", it gives the tie-rod...

    Bike leaning??

IWN2RYD, I own a GS/RS and my manual shows a tie rod,(photo page 452) called a tie rod (imagine that!). The part you refer to is called, (page 452) a link rod. I don't know how the nomenclature works on those hi-falutin' new RTs, maybe you are right. Anyhow, could you cut us site veterans a bit...

    Down shift SE5 problems.

This is true, but be aware that, in the case of the SE5, we are talking about 2 different oil pressures: the engine oil pressure and the hydraulic control module (HCM) pressure. Both must be correct, and can be checked. The HCM contains it's own oil pump, which normally boosts engine oil to 174...

    Fault code P0707

There are 2 listings for PO730 in the manual, right next to the place where PO 707 would appear. The first of the two reads "gear position sensor in invalid range". I wonder if a typo error was made and the first PO730 should be PO707. May be worth checking out.

    Fault Code P0707 ???

Littlejohn, in my manual I see 2 listings for PO730, which is the next listing in the manual where PO707 would be found. Is it possible that the first PO730 listing is a typo and should be PO707? It would seem to make sense in your case as the fault described is "Gear position sensor in invalid...

    Broken flaxomagnetic gyroscopic rods

DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS REPAIR! The replacement of FG rods is dangerous, precision work and requires a steady hand. Anyone who cannot keep a Spyder on the road is obviously either a spastic or a drunkard and is thus, UNQUALIFIED!

    Can you top this

I was trying to tell the noob, without being rude, that nobody was buying that fairy tale. But that's his story and he's stickin' to it.

    warranty and what to say

Why use the tube and filter idea anyway. Just cut a 1 inch cube of foam type air filter and tuck it into the top of the original crankcase hose. This works like a charm to prevent airbox oil and the only giveaway that it is there is a screw type hose clamp at the top of the hose rather than the...

    First Spyder!!!

Absolutely gorgeous, Hammer! I would have shaken loose the extra coin for the the SE5 myself, but that's just a personal preferance. Lots of folks prefer the SM5. You're going to enjoy it, either way.

Looking for a back rest & sport rack for 2008 Yellow Spyder

Welcome to Spyderlovers, Spyder 69. I live just down the road from you, in Mission, and I also own a yellow 2008 Spyder. Sorry I can't help you with the back rest and sport rack. What we use is a Givi topcase with a back rest pad. My wife, as passenger, says this works well for her and it has...

    seat latch

I don't feel I need the seat locking feature, so I removed the striker pin.

So, I paid inside for gas and when I came outside my Spyder was gone...

I agree. And it should be routine maintenance, especially for those with SE5s. Even with an SM5, all it takes is some looky-loo kid to kick the shifter on a bit of a grade. These things are not bikes, they will roll some distance. I lock the bars and set the brakes, every time I park.

So, I paid inside for gas and when I came outside my Spyder was gone...

I make a habit of locking the handlebars. Won't roll very far that way.

At what age did you, or would you switch ???

Trying to ryde an RS like Doc or Seth-O will do it too.

    The dumbest Spyder question yet.

Question: Why do you need three wheels on that thing? Answer: To avoid the added cost of a kickstand.

At what age did you, or would you switch ???

Hey, just keep your helmet on and nobody will see the gray hair! Works for me, and I"m 68. I'm not giving up on my GS/RS any time soon, either. I prefer a tight, accurate and frisky ryde to wallowing around in comfort, lol. Maybe when the arthritis catches up with me......

    KEWL METAL HIGHWAY PEGS

I like the KM brackets and the Magnum peg mounts, but I didn't care for the bracket extender links or the Iso Wing Mini boards. I found that I could not get the links or boards tight enough so that they didn't swivel at inopportune times. I solved this by replacing the Wings with straight Kury...
