• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Outside Temp Sensor

Has anyone tried or figured out how to move the sensor so that it reads a little more accurate? Example; when I left for work it was 78 in my garage but outside temp was 59. I drove 20 minutes to work and the temp still said 72 again... it was much cooler outside. I would just like it to be...

    Called a transformer

It is kinda cool. Most of my riding buddies call it a transformer. Things like "Bring that transformer and let's go to..." or "Does that transformer come with the hot chick accessory?" Stuff like that.... kinda fun. Willy

    Gremlin bell

I am trying hard to remember, but when I got my first one it was called a demon bell and not a guardian bell, and had the story about the potholes and such. I have had them on all my bikes since I was 17... and that is why I have to try hard to remember back that far.... Willy

    Moisture between Chrome and Windshield

You know, just the other day we were talking about that and someone said maybe a small rubber grommit like a small o-ring type thing might do the trick to let one be able to get a microfiber cloth between the edges. I haven't tried it yet, but it may work. willy

Removing pull out tray from the storage compartment that flips up.

I have been lucky again I guess... thank goodness. I have left my lcd digital tire display (it is a little guage that looks like the old tire guages with the small lcd in the end) in the little box with the insert since I have owned the spyder and it still works fine. I haven't been to Aiizona...

One more tyme......back to the shop (black hole) she goes.

I am a little confused about the jack thing. I have mine set at 4 they came from the dealer at three and I just used the tool in the tool kit and moved them to the next setting. No jack required that I could see. Yes, I did grunt a little but it moved to the next spot with no problems. I...

    Recall & Maintenance Notices

As usual right on the money Scotty... these are not recalls. These are services that the dealer needs to do when you bring the machine in. My dealer always checks my vin when I bring in my bike and gets the info from the computer. My understanding (and I sure it will be corrected) is that...

    Touring Advice for New Ryder

One thing I take that I either missed or no one mentioned is a small first aid kit. You never know when something might happen that you need one for. All the other preperations that you would make for an auto road trip is what I do (with the exception of rain gear always have that ready to...

2011 RT LTD stalling, DPS, Limp Home, Miss Fire, ECT,Ect,Ect.........WTF!!!!!!

Well, I never have had the Yamaha, but several Goldwings and there were the "early" problems with a stator, there were the later problems with the cracked (my o1 and my 04 were out for the count for a week or better during the reweld campaign) frame and so on. The Wing is a great machine with a...

Another new Spyder Ryder; a scared one.

While I cannot speak for anyone but me, I have not had one mechanical problem in 9k miles. Ran in some snow, lots of rain, and blistering hot weather. As has been stated here there are a ton of these on the road and only some have had problems. As you are aware of if you go the the HD sites...

    GPS sounds through headset?

I have a 11 RTS and have no problems getting sound in the helmet. However, when the cluster is set to external off, my CB still comes out of the speakers and the helmet, not the GPS or radio or IPOD, only the CB. I had to tell my buddies to watch what they said when we were in a town, as all...

    ??? about the CB

Well, the ground was not the fix so it is off to waiting for a reply from BRP. The service manager thought that was a better course than just throwing another CB at it.... At least they let me take the Spyder home..... Willy

    ??? about the CB

Thanks for the replys... The dealer just called and said they "think" that the problem was a very loose ground wire for the CB. They will try that before replacing it again. Willy

    ??? about the CB

Thanks for the tip. I have tried that, but I actually see the RX in the display when the sound is there. It is a constant rx static sound like when you turn the squelch too far down. If I turn it further down then I get the sound that sounds like cross talk (you know when two people are...

    ??? about the CB

Hello, after loggin 9k miles since May, my only complaint is the CB. I had it replaced at the 6k check and it solved the muting problem I had mentioned earlier. Now I have a range of about 3 car lengths and it works in the morning when it is cool. On our recent trip to Red Lodge, MT the...

Switching off without the parking brake?

Just used mine for 30 mins or more last night. You have to shut the bike off and hold down the mode button, and the radio and display come back on. Willy

Help Please my baby will not start

If it will not start, the oil light will stay on. Have you tried putting your foot on the brake and then starting? Sometimes that works for me. Also, I am sure you checked, but is the kill switch in the correct position. Willy

RTS/SE5 STALLING PROBLEM FIX (I HOPE)

I was just at the dealer yesterday having the 6k service and the service manager asked me if I had any problems with stalling, erratic idling and such. He said that they have had 4 2011's with throttle body issues that exhibited that behavior. I have not had the stalling issue so off I went...

    Just Opened Independence Pass

I wish summer home in Aspen..... I was actually coming from the Aspen side on the way home from Seattle. The west (Aspen) side of the hill is much more fun to ride than the east side. I like this road and trail ridge as you can go from point a to point b and not have to turn around and come...
