• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Moisture between Chrome and Windshield

I LOVE my new 2011 RT and have replaced all the gray metal with chrome. But moisture gets between the chrome and the windshield and looks terrible. I'll have to remove the windshield to clean it off. Anyone have suggestions on how to prevent this moisture from collecting again?

I think it was a bad design by the engineers, I have seen bikes on the show room floor that have small scratches right where the windshield comes in contact with the metal- caused by vibration. I asked Carlo and he said it was just normal wear and that it was not a warranty issue. I had painted my metal windshield holder timeless black and the scratches show up even more. I have tried to buff them out to no avail. So I started thinking about getting a new windshield but before I do I don't want the design flaw to rear it's ugly head. so I discovered that either a 3/8th inch thick rubber/wooden washer at all four screw contact points would lift the windshield far enough from vibrations harm. If enough of us complain maybe BRP will fix future generation bikes :)

I know my response didn't answer your question, but mine started out with moisture and dust getting in there and then turned to light scratches that were not easy to notice with the silver metal(probably why they chose it) Good luck keeping it clean.

I can provide photos if my verbiage isn't clear.

:agree: I take my windshield off about once a month to clean in between the mount and windshield .:gaah: I thought i would get the windshield tinted but 3 places have told me the tint film won't adhere to the windshield well .

You know, just the other day we were talking about that and someone said maybe a small rubber grommit like a small o-ring type thing might do the trick to let one be able to get a microfiber cloth between the edges. I haven't tried it yet, but it may work.

I did the small rubber washers. from Home Depot, at all 4 mounting places. It holds the shield off just enough to wedge a cloth between there for cleaning and stopped the noise it was making, but not all of the vibration. Piss-poor design on BRP's part knowing all too well they will move with the wind hitting them.
