There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. ??? about the CB

Hello, after loggin 9k miles since May, my only complaint is the CB. I had it replaced at the 6k check and it solved the muting problem I had mentioned earlier. Now I have a range of about 3 car lengths and it works in the morning when it is cool. On our recent trip to Red Lodge, MT the afternoon temps were over a 100 and anything below about 3/4 on the squelch setting would cause me to hear a constant rx static. If I lowered the squelch below that I got what sounded like cross talk over the cb.

If anyone has any suggestions (I know replace again) as to what might be causing the problem when it is real hot I would sure appreciate it.

Willy, I had kinda a problem like yours. It was suggested that I move the "vox" (far right bar) to the top setting. Try it, it may help, it did me. The Spyder CB (or radios for that matter) are no match for my Gold Wing's CB/am-fm. The BRP XM radio is not great either...

I ride sweep every Saturday with my Hill Country Road Riders and use my CB on the machine I am riding often during our 1.5-2 hour rides to breakfast. The Wing works much better than my Spyder.

Thanks for the tip. I have tried that, but I actually see the RX in the display when the sound is there. It is a constant rx static sound like when you turn the squelch too far down. If I turn it further down then I get the sound that sounds like cross talk (you know when two people are talking at the same time). I am taking it in for the the little over 9k check tomorrow and will have them change out the Cb again. I was just hoping someone might know why when it is hot that the cb does those things. Not in the am when it is cool....

I never heard of that...works when cool and not when it is hot. I hope they change it out....no telling what the problem is...

Sounds like either a bad electronic component or a cracked circuit board. I would think this would be in the CB, but it could be in the audio unit or possibly even the cluster, since all are involved. Since they don't have the electronics expertise to repair these units, it looks like a new CB or other module may be in your future. Hold their feet to the fire until they make it right.

I think Scotty is right. When electronic things work at one temp and not another (hot or cold) there's a high probability something changes and many times it's electronic components. It CAN also be a heat related problem with the coax and or connector.

Thanks for the replys... The dealer just called and said they "think" that the problem was a very loose ground wire for the CB. They will try that before replacing it again.

Willy

Well, the ground was not the fix so it is off to waiting for a reply from BRP. The service manager thought that was a better course than just throwing another CB at it.... At least they let me take the Spyder home.....
