• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Illusive Brake Failure Code

That is one sad dealer! There are several possible causes, including a bad switch, maladjustment, or the parking brake cable slipped off the drum. The dealer needs to fix it, not just scratch his head. Have him contact BRP dealer tech support for advice.

    dielectric grease...good or bad?

:agree: Unless you have had problems because of a moist environment or other corrosive influences (like multiple taps at the terminal, leave it dry. If you do apply anything, do it after the connections are made.

2012 rss se5 rolling while off in 1st gear??

The SE will roll in gear because the centrifugal clutch disengages when shut off. You just never realized it before. That is why the SE has a parking brake alarm (at least on the RT).

    Service for R622 trailer

You should have received an owners manual with your RT-622. It has a maintenance schedule. Every year: Check coupler condition and tighten coupler fasteners. Check tires condition and wear. Inspect wheels for damage. Check wheel bearing seals. Inspect lights for any damage and proper...

    The Log House Project

Sweat Equity The painters put a second coat of color on the walls, varnished doors and casings, and stained the front door today. I worked around them, jumping from room to room, laying the second layer of underlayment for the luxury vinyl tile. Crawling around on my hands and knees pretty...

    Helmet Storage

Usually a helmet will fit in the right side case. The helmet must be laid on its side and pointed in the right direction...usually with the round portion facing outward. I have never seen even an XL helmet fail to fit. There are helmet hooks under the seat, but you may need to fabricate some...

    Tugs4fun

You can make a couple of extension loops from a couple of long zipties. Make a loop, slip it through the helmet D-ring, and hook both loose ends over the hook. You can male a fancier extension from some lightweight aircraft cable. Make a loop at each end, crimp down the couplers, and off you...

I believe the procedure is in your owners manual.

    The Log House Project

Hardwood floors were traditionally underlain with felt or rosin paper to prevent squeaks. In our case the felt was optional, but it provides a measure of water protection in case of leaks or drips that get through the flooring, and we needed it to shim up the underlayment to try to match the...

    Mileage on back Tire

It is a personal decision. There have been some quality, mileage, and performance issues with the Kendas, but they do reasonably well in most cases for a motorcycle tire. They seem to last me 2-3 times as long as nay bike tire I ever owned and cost less. The trouble is that they are...

    Timeout camper hich question

My suggestion is to see if the trailer supplier is willing to help sort it out at their location. I'd also suggest you get a universal trailer wiring adapter from a local trailer shop or online. With that you can rig it up to get home, even if you end up with amber brake lights, then let a...

    Hesitation on hard right turns

If you guys fool with the SAS, don't forget that it is constantly compared to the steering torque sensor. I'm not sure if the front ABS sensors factor into it, but they might, or they might be integrated with the yaw sensor to detect wheel lifting. It may not be as simple as it seems.

    Connector for Front Turn Signals

There may not really be a good replacement, due to the close quarters in the turn signal housing. The wrong bulb can overheat the lens and damage it. You might want to consider the replacement LED kit Custom Dynamics sells...

    Upper belt guard

I did it by feel, using a 10 mm combination or box wrench...or maybe a ratcheting box wrench. I don't remember for sure. It helps to hold your mouth right and give some verbal encouragement (i.e. cuss words).

    NEAR DISASTER ON CHANGING OIL!!

Just don't over-tighten them. It is easier with the hex bolts, and you could strip the case or tank instead of the plugs.

    The Log House Project

The HHR is going to take a month to repair. The body shop is real busy...including a lot of other deer damage. As a result we took advantage of the rental car coverage in the insurance policy, and got Nancy a rental yesterday. That should allow us a little more flexibility in this busy time...

    Threw two Codes

You don't need to drain the gas, you need to replace the vacuum hoses, plain and simple. If they aren't chewed they are likely just cracked...or even just loose at the MAP sensor end. Access is difficult, but the job needs to be done. The hoses in question run from the throttle body to the...

I haven't fallen off a cliff. I had to redirect some of my time. I'm back now.

Glad to have you back here. Also glad to hear the knee is improving. Those BR numbers are scary, though...hope you get them headed down soon.

    Help on 12 volt accessories

The best way would be to install an auxiliary fuse block and some accessory outlets like the Powerlet outlets. Your options will be much more limited if you have the dealer do the work...many of them only want to use the BRP accessories and shy away from the aftermarket.
