• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Since I'll be installing another Odyssey PC680 battery to replace my existing one, I have a question. I know I've read on here that some say it's an insulator and others say it's a conductor. I'm pretty certain that it is an insulator. But, should it be used once the connections are made to the battery to prevent corrosion; or, should it not be used at all.

As I see it..!!

it was always used as a protection against corrosion. Older batteries tended to do that a lot more than the new sealed ones.it is good if yours in certain areas. I do agree with Roger with sealing with WD-40. All in all it won't hurt to put some on.

It's a sealed battery. There should be no reason to put anything on the terminals and the terminals shouldn't corrode. Terminal corrosion was common on lead acid batteries and typically due to copper wires with lead clamps.
If you have terminal corrosion with a sealed AGM battery you have a leaking battery....

:agree: Unless you have had problems because of a moist environment or other corrosive influences (like multiple taps at the terminal, leave it dry. If you do apply anything, do it after the connections are made.
