:spyder:....Well folks this is the month of October 2024 and you know what that means. So 9 month down and 3 to go till 2025. That's one way of looking at it.

Seriously, I hope you have been doing well and staying Safe. This latest 'Hurricane Helene' packed a terrible amount of damage. Praying for everyone who is dealing with the 'After Results'. I have been watching the TV News. I hope you are okay.

Now for my Indiana local area weather. Today we should have a mostly sunny day with the current temperature at 62°F. No rain in the forecast for today. I was able to get out there and cut most of my yard. It has been 6 weeks since I cut it. Do to the dry spell we had here.

High today of 72°F with some clouds.
Low at 43°F.

Have a Happy Day and enjoy your Ryde Times. ...

Please remember that this is a Family Friendly Forum. Post Up some good News and local area weather. Till next Time.

The desert continues to be locked in a hot, dry weather pattern. Todays forecast is for a high of 113 which will be the all time high ever recorded for the month of October. Humidity is 11% and there is a 4 MPH breeze. The 10 day forecast is for continued hot weather with temperatures well above 100 each day. A big cup of ice water is my constant companion. Stay safe..... Jim

80’s today and sun. Fall colors are just past peak so a good day for a ryde in the hills (if the wind doesn’t blow us away).

Summer is back for the next three days. 90's through Sunday, Monday 83, and Tuesday 78. Blue skies today. Some fall color is kicking in, but it has a long way to go before its "tour" time.

Hi Everyone,

Well, here in Vermont, we had some amazing fall weather today - Friday. There will be some changes as we get into the weekend.

We will have a weak cold front which will swing through from West to East overnight with a round of rain showers. But the good news is that it will move through quickly, so as we get into the day on Saturday to start the weekend, we'll get right back to mostly sunny skies again. But it will be a bit cooler.

Sunday will also feature lots of sunshine to round out the spectacular fall weekend. Then another cold front will come through Sunday night into Monday with another round of rain showers. This cold front will have a little more punch to it, so temps will drop down well below normal for this time of the year. This batch of chilly air will stick around right through the rest of the next week.

As for the fall foliage, here in Vermont some of the areas are at their peak colors, while some are near the peak, and the rest have patchy color.

Some areas in New York are also at peak, near peak, or have patchy color.

The current temp is 57 degrees/raining.

Stay safe and stay healthy everyone.

Ride when you can. Keep the 3 wheels down.

Deanna

Today was the first day of this seasons' car show that I participate in. It's a weekly show that is suspended during the hot summer months. I didn't even think of going today. But I did hear that some actually showed up.
The high temperature was 108 degrees. No clouds, no rain, no wind..... just another hot sunny day. The overnight low will be 80. Looking for a little cool down by next weekend. Good thoughts going out to all suffering the effects of the hurricane. Stay safe..... Jim

Weekend Weather 10/05 - 10/06/2024

....Welcome to my local area weather news from Indiana. Yesterday it was very warm and dry. The temperature was 81°F, so higher than expected. Most of the Indiana Farmers are getting back into the harvest. So far no real problems. Hopefully we will have a bonus season. Currently clear sky and 61°F.

High today of 81°F with some clouds.
Low at 60°F. No rain today.
A lot of field dust today and tomorrow.

Sunday's high of 82°F with lots of sunshine.
Have yourself a Blessed Day Everyone.

Ryde Time is wonderful and I have been able to get out there early morning. I hope you are able to Ryde. Till next time. ....

I guess the Weather Report thread would be the proper place for this. I've been 9 days without electricity, internet, phone, water, and a few other civilized items. Hurricane Helene hit here in the last part of September and tore up everything that wasn't under the ground. I've just got finished wiring in a new power pole. The Utility company came out and put up a new transformer pole. Took a while to get it. Transformers and a lot of other stuff are in short supply right now.

I bought my own utility pole and wired it in myself so that I didn't have to wait for contractors. Most of them have got a long waiting list. Had 7 of the main power poles coming from the dirt road to my house broken off and scattered in the field. I've got a few pictures of the aftermath. Helene happened at night, so I couldn't see anything. It was black dark with horizontal rain, and the only sounds were trees and limbs breaking off and hitting the ground.

I made out pretty good. All of the roofs are still on my buildings. It just took out a lot of power poles, and when the transformer pole went down, it snatched all of it - the meter can, breaker box, conduit, etc. off of my pole, and pulled a lot of the underground wires up too.

Everything is good here. Thanks to the Texas Utility company guys who came in to help with the clean-up and got my power lines back up on some new poles.

I ain't moving... I'd rather be blown away than snowed in. Weather Channel says there's another one coming this way...

Most Indiana Farmers are in 'FastTrack'.
Looks like a good yield for most.

We are having the same ol' weather we've been having pretty much all summer here in the desert. It's hot. I'll forego the details and just send my best thoughts and prayers to all the folks affected by Helene. Additionally, those in the path of Milton, stay safe. It looks like Milton will impact millions on or about Wednesday. Y'all are in my thoughts..... Jim

Well over on the east side of Fla, we are preparing for a BIG hurricane. This dont look like its gonna be fun folks. Thursday looks to be when it get over to me.

:chat:...Here in Indiana we are having amazing weather. A good time for getting out there and enjoy some Spyder Ryde Time. Currently clear sky and 46°F. Some of my trees have started to produce some color. Due to Indiana's dry spell our trees were dropping green leaves.

High today of 73°F with some sunshine.
Low of 44°F. No rain today.

Stay Healthy and Enjoy Your Day. ....

In NE Ohio, October might be the last good weather riding month till March. Kinda sucks cause I just got a new (to me) 2014 Can-Am Spyder RT SE6 and am trying to get as much wind therapy time as possible before the colder temps.

10/9/2024

Hopefully these good days will last for a few weeks. Anything above 55°F is a good ryde time for me. No rain or snow of course.
Currently 45°F with some clouds.

Moving forward with 'Milton' could be a real problem for some of you. Regardless of when, please stay Healthy and Safe.

Today's numbers are looking good.
High at 77°F with sunshine.
Low of 46°F and no rain.

Have a Blessed Day. ....
