• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

65 and on an F3-L.....and loving it so far......just hoping my F4 screen arrives soon to replace the stock one so I don't have to get a bloody eyeball replacement from the head wobbles

Mine will arrive today. I hope to have it installed and try it out this weekend.

There have already been some interesting results, when you look at this poll and compare it to the similar one from four years ago. While the percentage of those who are in there 50s and 60s have stayed roughly the same, we have lost a good number of those in their 30s and 40s. Most significantly, our riders in their 70s have greatly increased. (and we have two more octogenarians ).

I'm not a statistician, but it looks to me like the average age of Spyder owners who have participated in these polls has increase by almost 10 years over the past four years. Or am I wrong?

Anyone care to offer a comment about what the difference in these polls means? :dontknow:

It means that BRP has not caught the attention of the younger crowd and the RS-S needs a motor upgrade to be in the 150-175hp range. It probably wouldn't hurt to make the base model RS and F3 cheaper either. Anyway; after riding an RT, an ST, an F3 and My RS-S I have come to the conclusion that when I turn 37 tomorrow I will still like the ride of the RS the best.

Just sayin'............

I'm 67, my wife is 66. I met my honey on a motorcycle ride more than 50 years ago. We bought our 2011 RT Ltd in 2011 for our 40th wedding anniversary. This is our ninth motorcycle.
Our only regret is that we wish they would have come out with the Spyders 50 years ago!

I turn 54 on the 19th. The wife turns 54 next month. We've been a Spyder owner for about 15 months. 2015 RTL

Mostly 50's and 60's. I think one would see similar results for other premium vehicles like Vets and 911's. People associate fast vehicles with young people. But the fact is its the older people who can afford them.

We just bought our Spyder after riding a 2003 VTX 1800s. I am 68 and my sweetheart is 69. We can keep on riding!!!

AGE,

In one week I will turn 78. I quit riding two wheels quite a few years ago after roughly 45 years of riding. Yep, I began at a very young age. About 12 years old, on a home made motor bike. Three months ago I purchased a 2015 RTS. It is my plan to skew the age older two years from now. As long as I can get my leg across the seat, age is simply a number. I feel blessed as my wife also enjoys riding also.

MY AVERAGE AGE ......................................

Right you are! I am 74 and enjoying every minute of my Spyder. I wish the dream machine came earlier in my life! We lost a Spyder rider who was in his early 80's last year and he was a real gentleman who loved riding into the sunset. Keep enjoying and do what ever you want to do.

To answer the question "what is the average age?":
I guess my AVERAGE age is about 66. My body is 83, but my mind is only 50, so 66.. LOL LOL

After a quick read through the posts.... It looks like I'm one of the younger RT riders... I feel like a baby at only 28! I hope I'm still riding in my 70s and 80s!

Turning 60 in October. Still love a little knee dragging in the twisties on my sons Kawaski concours. But love our 2011 RT to just set back and cruse out on the back roads. Hope to still be riding in my 80's.

The survey reminds me of a joke Mel Torme told when I was managing a theater in Naples FL. He said that when he played Sarasota he discovered that the average age of his audience was between 80 and death. And that when he played Naples he discovered where their parents lived. My boss banned him from bookings in the theatre. Shame. He had a great voice and was terrific to work with. Didn't much matter. He died shortly after. I thought it was too funny and rather accurate!

It's funny to watch this thread unfold. I feel like the damn unicorn of the group. I'm 25 and have had my Rs for about 4 years. Best decision I ever made was buying that bike and I love every mile I ride.

Age

Yes, I agree that we need a new average age pole. Am sure we have members who are knowledgable in how to make one and am sure we will see a big difference now compared to the 2012 pole.

Just turned 79 this summer but still think I'm 19, until my 79 year old body says, "you're gonna do what?"

I won't be 84 until the 29th of this month. Did not start riding until 1948. In the Air Force, I rode in many countries. Very enjoyable.
