• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

My brother and his wife are in their 20s and they have an RT-S. I've always liked hanging out with people older than myself, get to learn lots of new things that way and they are generally "better behaved", LOL. But it's nice to see that someone else in my brother's age group rides Spyders too.

I'm in the same boat I can make friends with anyone lol yeah I got a spyder cause I was unable to ride a regular bike and I've never looked back

I'm wondering how much of the Spyder demographics has to do with income? In my 20's, this would have been a much more difficult purchase. Having disposable income didn't really happen until my late 20's or early 30's. Usually, buying a car or paying your mortgage are your major expenses when you make the transition into becoming an adult.

You can buy a used motorcycle for 3k, so a potential 30k purchase is an entirely different event.

I am 72 and my wife is 71. We both love our Spyder. We had a 2011 RT and now a 2015 Spyder RTS. Before the Spyders we had a little 200 Yamaha. Funny story about the 2011 Spyder. We were in Florida, and my wife was getting her nails done. The owner of the salon looks out and says to his employee that the RT is a old persons ride. I mentioned some facts about it, and he said is that yours. I said yes and he started back peddling, saying nice things about it. Funny look on his face, like oh crap.

My age?????

Jenfz09 found this four year old thread today which asked how old Spyder owners are. Mike thought it would be interesting to see how things may have changed in four years.

I agree, Mike. So here you go... (Individual poll respondents will not be listed with names.)

Thanks for posting this again, I too am getting older but not old. Love my Circuit Yellow 2013 RT/SE. Chasing the wind every chance I get. Make a great day today. Paco

I 100% agree with you. We were renting and both of us had gotten REALLY good jobs for our age group. I had went back and forth on it but the fact is, life is short and as my wife always said. You can't take money with you when you go so why not have some fun and enjoy the life you live? With that we broke down and bought the Rs. It was a pretty penny no doubt about that and I think that most people in the 20's age range don't have that disposable income. I had almost NO other options for a motorcycle so we broke down and bought it. Best investment I've probably ever made.

GETTING BETTER!

Right you are! I am 74 and enjoying every minute of my Spyder. I wish the dream machine came earlier in my life! We lost a Spyder rider who was in his early 80's last year and he was a real gentleman who loved riding into the sunset. Keep enjoying and do what ever you want to do.

Well, I'm only 76, will be 77 July 4th, and think I am only getting better, not older.............................
