What did you do to your Spyder today?

I'm hoping! I went from a Road Glide to the RT, and it feels really ... squishy?... comparatively.

We got fiber here last year too, it's awesome!

I had that problem myself, turns out the tires were a bit deflated for towing purposes. Once I aired them up correctly it felt much better. But that sway bar made the biggest difference. BRP should put a beefier sway bar on these Spyders at the factory.

Tires were super over-inflated from the dealer, getting them down to 18 from 28 made a difference also, but it was still a bit wonky. I have the sway bar on, and am hoping like all heck to get out this afternoon. We picked up the 2024 RTL that we got for my father in law this past weekend, and he's itching to ride too!

I'm new to the forum and I'm loving the Spyder life. I've added several mods to my 23 RT and the town latest were yesterday afternoon. I installed the Cat delete pipe and the LED American flag booth from Lamonster. It took a little bit to figure out the springs, but I finally got it when I added a bigger handle to the tool. (vice grips) The LED flag was super simple and very bright. The next thing on my list is the Lamonster sway bar. I was going to post pics but it keeps saying my files are too large.

Well, I don’t have a Spyder, but SWMBO does, so guess who gets to work on it.
So far the last week, we (she “helped”) change the oil, new front rotors and pads, and I just installed the floorboards I made for her.

I went to the dealership (for an oil change, VSI, and they checked the tire pressure) then I went out to dinner this evening.

This weekend it is going to be raining, so I won't take my Spyder ride this week. I hope to ride next week, when the weather is better.

I replaced the square Kendas that came on the bike. I put on Vredestein 165/60R15 Quatracs on the front. Both balanced out with no weights. Just a short test ride but a great improvement. I should have done that 10000 miles ago.

Went on my 1st decent ride of the spring season, putting on about 120 miles. I learned two things.

1.) My Russell Day Long seat is awesome! and
2.) The Spyder rear suspension is much more planted and compliant with the Wilbers 640 shock installed. Well worth the expenditure.

Today I made a brake arm for the missus. She’s got short legs and after I built her floorboards I figured it was finally time to move her brake pedal back (been meaning to do it for a year.) I’m not gonna say I can’t afford to buy stuff, but I’m a cheapskate.
Just couldn’t make myself plunk out $65 for the rod when it’s such a simple thing.
And, I don’t trust my welding to cut and weld on such an important piece as the brakes.
So a trip to Ace hardware and $22-ish bucks later and an hour or so, it was built. I was going to just use threaded rod but nobody had 5/16 -24, so I decided to use this 1/2” that I already had and turned it down on the lathe and threaded it.
Oh and made new 5/16 shoulder bolts and used nylock nuts. Works great!

I made a new home for the RTL. My overcrowded workshop where I used to park my two wheeler Royal Enfield was cleared and tidied and now is a cosy home for the coming winter (southern hemisphere), not that I don't stop riding.

Nice work.

I made new shift and brake rods to move my footboards to position 4.
I made them from aluminum hex rod, left and right hand threads, and 5/16 heim joints with jam nuts.
This makes fine adjustments to pedal position easy, and eliminated the slack from the original clevis pins.

Packed my first bag for the 6-8 week cross country trip that will begin in 12 days. I still do not trust the side saddle bags on my 2021 RTL, so I packed a took kit, jump box/air compressor combo, shop rags, and an extra quart of oil in the right side bag and locked it down. This is a compartment that I hope not to have to open during the entire trip, so I feel safe placing those items in there. Next will be the rain gear, shoe covers, and bike cover. Going to clean the bike up really good this weekend and do a ceramic coat on it so that bugs will hopefully wipe right off when the time comes. Also waiting on a 4" wider windshield to come in. Last weekend I rode using my Air Hawk seat cushion. It was pretty good, but I will give my gel cushion a try this weekend to see which one works out best. Excited for this trip is a major understatement.

Your dealer wanted $65 for the shorter brake rod?

When we bought our 2023 F3, I needed to have a shorter brake rod too. My dealer ordered it and installed it, $25. They tried to keep the 'old', too long, rod. I paid for that rod in the price of the F3, so it's mine to take home, and I did.

While browsing through FB the other day, I saw a post in a Spyder group where someone had installed a bulkhead fitting for their battery maintainer cable, and it looked great. A far sight better than the state that mine was in, so I ordered the appropriate fitting & cable for the Optimate 3 and installed it today. I fought with my cheap hole saw kit longer than it took to do the actual install. After I switched over to a boring blade to drill the hole, the cable fitting was mounted, secured, & connected to the pre-existing cable in about 10 mins.
