• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What did you do to your Spyder today?

I finished putting on the Ultimate seat. If it will quit raining (more like sprinkling) I would like to do a day trip to get it broke in a little before our trip.

Just did the “canisterectomy” Routed the hose clear back behind the Brake reservoirs, To tired to ride it today, will check it out tomorrow.

Yesterday, I finished up an oil change after our 3 week trip to the 3 wheel rally in South Dakota. Used Amsoil even though the Rotella 15w40 T6 had miles left on it. The Spyder seemed a bit noisy on hot start up. Something I never noticed with the Amsoil.

Per advice from many here on this forum, started the process of changing out the factory Kenda tires on my F3-S Daytona. Only has 1,226 total miles on it. Installed a Riken Raptor HR, size 215/60R15, pressure set at 18psi. Date code 3921 replacing a 1316. Adjusted belt tension down to +/- 165 lbs, trying to eliminate some vibration at the 65-69mph and 74-77mph marks. Also sucked out all the fluid in the clutch reservoir and replaced with fresh Dot4 fluid. Will do a complete clutch and brake flush and bleed in the near future. And installed a generic ~$15 BeadRider on the seat. A test-ride is in order tomorrow to check my handiwork.

Have a pair of Continental ContiProContact tires, size 165/60R15, on the way for the front. Should be here mid-week.

I attempted to figure out how to reverse the wiring on the Shift Paddle so my thumb down-shifts and my Index finger up-shifts. Seems to be a little more complicated than I was bargaining for. will head back into the shop manual to revisit my plan. Oh Joy!

Got back from Sturgis last week, but had a full week of yard work, due to the fact that it rained everyday we were gone. So today I finally got around to washing and waxing the Spyder today. Looks much better.

Added pinstriping to my Spyder

Hi guys, I added some pinstriping to my 17 RTL Asphalt Grey Metallic Spyder. I used silver Metallic double pinstriping. Take a look -
I added pictures to my album under my profile. Go there to see the pictures then come back and tell me what you think.
You can see some in the picture below.

Tried to adjust the preload on the F3 front shocks while still mounted on the bike.
Couldn't get the locking rings loose. Looks like I'll have to pull the shocks and adjust off the bike.:yikes:
Removed the old gas cap. Ground wire was a challenge to remove but ultimately got it out.
Waiting for the new gas cap to arrive.:yes:

Installed the Safety LED Bullet-Brake & Strobe Light. Talk about Bright, this should get drivers attention. Put it in the flash mode. The only Issue I had was , the pigtail that I was to put in the line to one of the tail lights was not correct, the instructions showed 3 different types according to your model, mine is the ST. But the one they sent which shows it's for the ST, well mine was not like that, The one that showed for the RT model is what mine needed. Thankfully I had a a Posi-tab connector, so installation was a breeze.

Finally got a set of Continental ContiProContact fronts (165/60R15) delivered. Got them swapped on and balanced, and I installed them back this evening. So, finally, 3 new, good tires. Test ride will have to be another day.
