• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What's this shaft for on Left Side of my RTL under/behind front sprocket?

I found a spline on my F3 SE6 and also asked that question.
I was told its for a gear shifter to be fitted for the bikes that have the manual transmission.

I've used the search function but nothing came out so sorry if you brought this topic before ...

While inspecting the left side of my RT 2023, behind the driver's footpeg, I noticed a shaft protruding from the gearbox with a spline at the end that isn't connected to anything. Is this normal, or have I lost a part? The Spyder operates smoothly without any noise or issues.

You're good. Nothing fell off. :spyder2:

Interesting that this same question comes up after I first posted it 6 years ago. Thank you, moderators for consolidating all this in one place. Sure helps users from searching fragmented information..... Jim

It's reassuring. :) I will climb Mount Washington on Wednesday. :)

If you get behind some slow poke coming down the hill like I did, you will wish you had a lower first gear for the ascend!!! Have fun, it's a great view on a clear day.:2thumbs:
