• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I'm wondering how much of the Spyder demographics has to do with income? In my 20's, this would have been a much more difficult purchase. Having disposable income didn't really happen until my late 20's or early 30's. Usually, buying a car or paying your mortgage are your major expenses when you make the transition into becoming an adult.

You can buy a used motorcycle for 3k, so a potential 30k purchase is an entirely different event.

Your probably right. We ended up in a good job and were smart with our money. Plus, given this was really one of my only options to get on the road on a motorcycle we kinda just pulled the trigger and went with it.

It means that BRP has not caught the attention of the younger crowd and the RS-S needs a motor upgrade to be in the 150-175hp range. It probably wouldn't hurt to make the base model RS and F3 cheaper either. Anyway; after riding an RT, an ST, an F3 and My RS-S I have come to the conclusion that when I turn 37 tomorrow I will still like the ride of the RS the best.

Just sayin'............

I think you hit the nail on the head. Even the new commercials are pulling for a younger demo and the fact that a. They aren't quite as cheap as a standard bike or b. Aren't as fast are two very large points keeping them out of that demo.

Not as fast?

Mine seems to be able to go as fast as I can safely push it. But perhaps I may not know of what I speak, since I am not of that demographic. ;)

Unless you took the govonor off, the 998 tops at 124 (at least mine and my buddy's rs did) idk about the new 1330 motors. Don't get me wrong that's stupid fast but most people my age want the ability to die in a motorcycle wreck around 150-170 lol if you've figured out how to go that fast please share lol

New member here, and we just got our first Spyder last weekend.

My wife has always wanted to ride, and even got her motorcycle license three years ago with the basic rider's course. She's always had knee problems though, and would never get comfortable enough on my bike to put any time on it. She always wanted a Spyder though, and with her graduating nursing school and getting a decent-paying job we decided to pull the trigger.

I'm 30, and she's 28. Both of us really enjoy our new-to-us '13 RT!

Disabled Vet

My wife and I have two spyders and we are in are 30's. To be fair we are disabled veterans so we feel older than what we are. :roflblack:

Im a disabled vet as well. Can't go back to a two-wheel. Wouldn't want to anyway. Love my RT. Had it for a year this month and I'm now 63.

Hi, I am on my second spyder. I got the f3, it is fast! I travel light, and even though I have back problems, it's very comfortable for me. Oh, and I'm 72.

Since this thread started: I've moved into the next Statistical Category...
Getting older may stink; it's better than NOT getting any older!

Now that the numbers have really broke out into a mostly standard looking pattern, it appears that most of the owners are in the 50 to 60 year age categories.

I'm a 18% place holder at the moment. Where did time go? :roflblack:

I am in the 56 club ! bought the spyder r-t 2 months ago , ,had been checking these babies out for 3 years , sitting on all the ones we could find at dealerships , talking with the sales guys , then wander over too the indian cycle side , side on those babies a while , { the sales guy always would ask , come on over we can do some paper work , " which one we getting today , indian or spyder ? " always said indian , but most like we would be getting a spyder first ! never could get one from this dealer though , had too go 35 miles away too a cycle shop who doesn`t carry can-am spyders as a mainstay , but have had 2 wheelers in my late 20`s early 30`s , then again 3 or 4 years ago .. . still like checking out the indian chieftain silver and black ! 1111141700.jpg something like this but silver and black ! although this red would look great under the tree uhhhh!

Think of it this way... You have now graduated into the LARGEST age category of Spyder owners. You've now made top billing.

I should make it to 79 in a few more months if I don't hit another large animal. I love our 2014 RTS SE6.
