• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Ok, here's a new one. Turned the key on while suiting up. Got the safety card screen, started the spyder. But then the screen went blank for a few seconds and the safety card screen came back up, the spyder was running. I hit the mode button and it went to the normal screen. This is the second time it's happened. I'm not too concerned about it but if it gets to be to frequent i'll have it checked out. Anyone else experience this??

:dontknow: maybe a battery issue? At least it starts, but I would check battery connections and the charge it has. After that again :dontknow:

Happened to my 2008 this past Thursday. Started my Spyder and it sputtered a bit so I looked down and had the scroll to push M while still running. First time I've seen this. All seems fine and I've ridden abut 200 miles since.:dontknow:

Check the battery connections for starters... Good luck!

Its happend to us in the past as well

Had similar happen on our 2010 RT-S. Tho, on ours, it would happen while out ryding, was very disconcerting going down the road & the whole LCD goes blank. Guess thats another reason BRP designed the RTs with analogue gauges as well as the LCD ones. I could actually get that one to do it every now & then by brushing my glove across the LCD screen. We ended up trading that one before we found the reason for the issue. Sorry I can't add anything to help, but at least you know your not alone.

This happens to my 2010 RT every once in awhile. Shut it off and restart. If you leave it like that it doesn't register mileage. Kind of a pain in the butt if you don't notice it right away. You have to shut it off to reset.

That happens on my 2010 RT. And at times it turns over hard which then makes the screen go blank. Restart and all works well. Will have this checked soon at the 6000 mile check up.

Yikes, so my 2012 RT was doing this out at SpyderFest this year but the CanAm guys had no clue and neither did Pittbull. When hooked up to BUDs everything was normal.

Yesterday on a 40 mile police escort ride where the temp was showing 102 (actual temp was in the 90s) it happened so many times I lost count. It seems to be connected to heat, for me but I'll see if my service guys can check on it and at least get it logged in the system as a known issue.

Oops, I didn't realize this thread was that old. Perhaps someone else has some more ideas, now?

Not really..!!

it is something electrical. For the screen to revert to start up means it lost or thinks it lost power. Checking ground and battery connections is the best place to start. That would be at the battery, at the jump connectors and the grounding points. Don't just wiggle them, loosen wiggle and tighten. All except the negative jump connector just wiggle that one...:lecturef_smilie:

I have seen this same thing when I have been working on the bike (mods) for a while with the radio on and lights. When the battery is low and then it starts - it seems to reboot yet the bike is already running.
