• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Which one? I have been thinking of doing that in the Spring..
I bought the OEM backup camera from my local dealer, it was a little more expensive than others I’ve seen but it was easy plug n play.
My 2024 did not have the knock out panel for the camera, so they say you should get the 2025 rear fender to install on the 2024’s.
That’s another $200 plus, I decided not to buy that part.
I removed the license plate light and cut a hole in the rear fender large enough for the camera plug to fit through and fished the connector up to plug it in. I then mounted the camera on the outside of the rear fender with the included screws.
I just removed the passenger seat, unlocked the mount to the rear cargo and tilted it up without removing it to get access to the plug.
I did not remove the rear fender or have to unplug the cargo wiring harness, installation of the camera took about 30 minutes.

I finally sold Weeble's garage mate, my BMW K1200LT that I've owned since new in 2004. She sat in my garage for three years and now I can order a Russel Day Long saddle for the Spyder.

Swapped out my old Garmin Zumo 396 mount for the new XT2 mount. The XT2 screen looks so much better, as it should, since it is bigger and much newer. Now comes the learning curve and testing to see how well it plays with plans made in MyRouteApp.

I also (finally) checked the air filter after an Alaska trip last summer. Expected it to be really dirty after all the unpaved sections, but it was very clean. I guess it pays to ride in the lead position on those sections.

Last week I changed the rear tyre on my Spyder, When removing the wheel we noticed no split pin on the axle and strangely only 1 hole drilled. We put it all back together and I ordered a Krikit and 36mm spanner and socket (I had to borrow them initially). I contacted the dealer 90 miles from me to ask about the split pin and was told "they don't use them now, just torque it up and go." What thoughts Spyder gurus? My Spyder is a 2023 RTL

Cold spell left us for a few days, so Momma and I left Chino Valley and rode down to Yarnell, AZ to Gilligan's for Lunch. Nice little 60 mile trip each way. Lots of nice sweepers most of the way there through Skull Valley, and Kirkland. Pizza was great as usual. On the way back home we went back through Wilhoit, which gave me my dose of twisties. Temps were right at 70, so a perfect day for a lunch getaway.
