• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. What did you do to your Spyder today?

I installed the lock tumblers in my Canyon side cases. I found that the procedure was slightly different than
demonstrated on the SHAD web site but I just reasoned through it. The most difficult part was installing the fastner that holds the lock bar on each tumbler. Not complicated, just an access issue.

Got a set of Front EBC Rotors and Ceramic pads to install tomorrow…

Trying to fix the front end vibration on my 2024 S2S. So far, I've got the front wheels rebalanced and aligned, so I'm hoping this will fix it. I also have a new set of front tires ordered. Something has got to give. :)
We have been battling a front vibe issue while on the brake as well. It's the LF wheel because I can see the fender shaking only when on the brake. I took the rotor off and scuffed it in on the lathe with a flapper wheel with no change, hoping it was maybe some ceramic friction embedded into the rotor.

I do remember that left tire having more visual runout than the right too. She will be getting new front shoes after our Rt66 trip, so we will see then.

Keep us posted on what worked for you?

Received my brackets yesterday from CanAm Spyder Accessories to adapt my Ultimate floorboards to my newly acquired F3-L. Easy install, and works better for me than the OEM footboards.

Installed my TricLED Dynamic Driving Lights today. Always good to have more bright white light in the front. I don't plan to ride much at night but if I do find myself out after dark, these will follow the front wheels in a turn for better visibility. Oh and I also installed my temp custom tag WEEBLE was taken so I had to settle for WEEBUL.

My Spyder RT had its first service (3000 mls) last Wednesday and they called me to say both discs were warped and new pads required as well. I was about to ask how long and they said we have the parts and we are fitting them as we speak (under warranty). When I picked the trike up, the mechanic told me he likes to brake hard, and he noticed the left side mudguard was shuddering, leading him to the warped discs. All fine now.

Congratulations, you found a good mechanic. (y)

Hi, yes, a company about 80 miles away. They are the most smiley, can do people I have ever dealt with. They are well known in Scotland and get good reports from all it seems. I bought the Spyder from them new. We are going to the Scottish Highlands tomorrow on the Spyder and we are really looking forward to the trip (300 miles) which is a long way on some of the roads. I am finding the Forum here very useful to learn about the Spyder.

I would not think you could warp a rotor in 3,000 miles, they must have been bad from the beginning.
The mechanic told me on the phone not to worry "we have seen this before" nothing to do with how you are driving. I have been on 2 wheels for 50 years and have never relied on the brakes, but I must admit the Spyder has taken a wee while to come to grips with.

So after install, I embedded the pads to the new disk by doing what TrailD recommended for their ceramic pads, and the vibration is gone and the pedal is no longer pulsing. I will take easy on them for the next little while. We ride a lot, so 1000 Km’s will go pretty fast.

Going on a 1500-2000 Km’s trip Monday, on return I will swap all the tires to Kanines and that will be that. At that time I will also install the new rear ceramic pads.

Also got a PedalBox Pro installed and a RLS cat delete.

Did you do both rotors or only the offending one? Nvm; I looked back and saw you got the set.

Yep, the set. I would never do just one side, and new disks, should have new pads.
Agreed! I would never do one side for a client, but would consider doing one OEM rotor on my wife's, assuming it stopped straight afterward. $150 for a single OEM rotor or $260 for a pair of EBC's, no brainer there! Considered even mounting it up on the brake lathe to take runout and possibly machine them.

I'm having a difficult time doing any more upgrades for this bike now that we're fairly certain a Canyon will be in the future.

$260/pair for front EBC rotors? You need a different vendor C'cooter.

I outfitted my Canyon with the Alaska Leather sheepskin seat cover from my old BMW GS. The fit was perfect. I have a 1500 mile round trip to the BMW MOA rally in Lebanon TN in a few weeks and the sheepskin will make the long days more comfortable. It also holds sentimental value.

Took it to the dealership for the fourth time in 4 months for the front end vibration (new 2023 RTL).

If they can't correct the condition, then I will have them install the Vredesteins I have acquired.

Want to make sure there isn't something else wrong first, like a steering or shock issue causing the vibration.

Took the front wheels to a local tire shop to have a new set of tires mounted and balanced.
Since the front wheels were off and I have my Baja Ron tie down rings back from being powder coated (black to match the black trim) I figured it was a good time to get them installed.
