• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Swapped on new EBC rotors and balanced the tires. That annoying shake in the left fender while braking is gone.

Also replaced a little plastic skid plate that was cracked. I so hate the stupid plastic fasteners these things are held together with. I fought one for 20 mins trying to line it up...

Wife is lucky I love her because I'd toss this thing in the dumpster if I had my way!

What a day.

The dealership claims the tech took it for a ride yesterday and went up to 60 MPH and did not observe and vibration or anything abnormal.

Problem is, it rained buckets all yesterday and there wasn’t a water spot anywhere on the bike.

Also, checked the battery and stated that it was only registering 250CCA when it should be 350CCA. Suggested one of the cells may be going bad already, however, BRP will not replace it under warranty until it actually dies.

Bike is only 4 months old.

I have new Vredestein tires and will have them replace the junky Kenda ties. Tired of dealing with something they cannot or will not acknowledge. The Vredesteins on my last Spyder were superior to the Kendas.

Just my rant for the day…

Applied more domed carbon fiber kits (bling) today to cover the scratches on the black plastic that appear if I so much as look at the bike sideways 😖.
Swapped emails with Ron at BajaRon's on which sway bar makes the most sense to order (Ultra/Orig). Ended up ordering the Ultra. What a great guy to do business with. I can't wait to install the bar and check it out.

Hopefully, this is the start of some functional mods as I continue to get some more miles on (Sway bar, maybe JRI shocks, a pair of Vredestein's, cat delete, ECU flash, etc.)

Installed a Pedalbox Pro on my 2011 Spyder RT with the 998 engine. The first test run was wild! In Sport+ mode, I genuinely almost came off the handle bars because it accelerated with such a punch. After playing with the settings, I left it on Sport and up 'one tick.' That seems to have the 'snappy' response I enjoy and makes gears 3 & 4 much more aggressive. This is an excellent upgrade. Excellent!

However - I am having an issue initializing the anti theft mode. For some reason, the bluetooth and phone don't agree that I performed the 'Perfecttune' as described in the instructions, which I have done numerous times now... Oh well - I'll call the manufacturer about that hiccup and update this (if I remember) after my trip next week. 2,000 glorious miles for Father's Day Weekend! Woot Woot!

After getting home from work, I found my new Lamonster Ram Mount 2.0 in the mailbox and wasted no time installing it on my Spyder RT. The setup was quick and easy, and now I finally have a convenient spot for my iPhone while riding. No more stashing it in the little glove box and relying solely on voice directions - now I can see and use Google Maps effortlessly on trips!

A huge thanks to Lamonster Garage for the fast shipping and top-notch quality. And as a bonus, the two pieces of Zotz candy in the package were a nice touch - I’ll definitely enjoy those!

Got back from a 5 day trip on Friday, took all the wheels off to get new rubber installed on Monday.

Friday, I cleaned the worst off, and I have started detailing the bike and trailer ready for the next long trip, and many day trips before, once I get the wheels back from the dealer.

Took the Champagne Spyder for it's first two up ride today after the transmission output recall. The dealer in Burlington, Wa, scheduled it for 5/27, and we dropped it off on Friday, while checking out the 2014 the in-laws wanted to buy. They are closed Sunday and Monday, and Tuesday it went under the knife. They said three days to do the recall, and Friday I rode it home and my lady trailered the 2014 back to our summer place.

Quite different than my experience pwith the Mesa Arizona dealer with the other Spyder. They had it for 9 days and did not even start the work. We had an pplovernight ride planned, so I picked it up and took it back again after the ride. They still had it a little over a week to complete the recall.

Sadly the only good Spyder dealer in Az is in Sierra Vista 175 miles away.

Installed the magnetic mirror parts that came in the mail today.
The mirrors were becoming too wobbly after x numbers of being slapped off and on in the garage.
Installing them was easy and straightforward, and those magnets sure are strong.

Did a lil' video while working on it: Magnetic mirrors

Hi Arne, Did you install the safety wires on your new Magic Mirrors?? They saved me a BIG expense on a poorly maintained mountain pass up in the Sierra Nevada.

Hi Lew and thank you for the reminder.
I did not, but sure will get me some wires and do that as soon as possible. It would be sad to loose a mirrior to the ground and see it fall to pieces.
