• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Did a 100 mile ride today all over Washington, Sullivan, Blount, and Carter County today. Only about 7 miles of actual highway. All 2 lane country roads. Just perfect. Got in some rain just after I took my jacket off. It was 89° and the rain felt mighty good.
Came home and popped a top of an adult beverage.

Those are the kinds of rides I love. I like riding in the country and being able to take in the sights. I'm not big on riding on highways. It's boring.

Just got back from a 1000-mile trip to the Black Hills. Got rained on every day except last Tuesday, when we left home. Bike smells like frying grasshoppers now. Have to wash it after a doctor's appointment this morning.

Ordered a Quatrac for the rear today, The Kenda that the dealer put on when I was rear ended back last september is already bare in the middle with less than 6k on it.

No burnouts, just highway and "regular" driving. Will be glad to have the Quatrac back on.
 
Spray detailed it after getting caught in the rain yesterday. Yes I'm a nut about cleaning. Can't get it out of my system from keeping patrol boat engine rooms spotless. Even after being retired for 27 years from the USCG. Lol
Can't stand a dirty ride period.
 
Got a ticket from the Maryland state police. It makes it a little bit easier to take the ticket when the first words out of his mouth were ... Man this thing is wicked!

He was a real nice guy even though I did get the ticket and he cut me a break on the amount I was speeding so I can't complain. First ticket in 15 years for me.

Well that stinks.
I've been lucky so far.
 
My dad was a Coasti....... and Mom an Army nurse.

Took the :spyder2: to an auto parts store for oil and a filter to do a service on a neighbors Kioti tractor. Checked the oil level upon returning and had to add some to my liking. 15w-40 for these hot No. Nevada summers. But it's just too hot :mad: to ryde after noon.

Went for my daily afternoon ride, usually around 60-70 miles. Temp out was 90° F.
Anyway, I have a bunch of ways to get home, and I thought, "ya know it's a nice day, so I'll take the longer back way home". In that instance I thought, ya that's great but so far, I haven't had any bad encounters with any cages yet, but I went anyway. Sure enough, some drunk cager pulled into my lane from the right. All my lights were on including high beams. I was behind a group of four cars about 4 car lengths back at 30 mph. Anyway, I slowed down in plenty of time while the whole time giving him the horn. He acknowledged that and I could hear him say sorry, so I didn't give him the 1 fingered peace sign!

Next decision was to take the Hwy for 8 miles or the back Road to my house. I decided to take the short hop on the highway because I wanted to pick up a bottle of Kentucky bourbon (he he) and that was the only way there. Once on the highway doing 60 in the slow lane, a car passed me slowly, and while she was even with me, she started moving into my lane. Again, I moved over, slowed down so she would not hit me, and laid into the horn for at least 20 seconds. She acknowledged the horn and moved over. I'd had enough and grabbed a handful of throttle on Sport III setting of the PedalBox and got away from all the hazards!
Made it to the store and home safely.
So anyway, while the horn did work, it sure is wimpy. I'm going to look for a louder horn, and hopefully one that won't pull more amps than the stocker, so I can utilize that circuit.

I'm more a fan of the products from Lynchburg, Tennessee, even if I no longer imbibe. :D


Slingmods has a dual horn kit that fits your bike.

Try a Motohorn 3 and F3 plug/play kit from Lamonster. Put one on my past F3S. SUPER LOUD! :) Can be mounted so it's not very visible. You will be HEARD!!

I also like the Tennessee offerings lol.
Thanks for the suggestion, and I have seen the WOLO Horn on that site, but wasn't sure about the amp draw.
The Aerostitch company makes a train horn that's compact also. I don't want those giant horns on my bike. I want something compact.
