• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Check key error

Not today, but yesterday took my tricycle in for a check key error. According to the dealership, I shouldn't have been able to ride it at all because of some security something that wasn't deactivated (but is now).

Sunday, I added the Viking Lamellar XL saddlebags to my F3. Over the last month I've added LED headlights, Lamonster belt dampener, and the Baja Ron Ultimate Sway Bar. Next, I'll be looking for new footrests. I gotta find a new place to get my packages delivered.

After a year of just wiping the spyder down after each ride with a spray detailer I finally gave it a real soap and water bath. I got in a heavy rain storm on the way to BajaRon's for tires last week, and I had to let it sit for a week due to out of town company. There gone, and now it's time to get her dirty again.

Today I changed the oil & filter and refilled with Amsoil. Gave the girl a little bath after the oil changed and then wife & I traveled about 45 miles and got an ice cream treat and then rode home.

Bought the wife the FOBO 2 sensors for her Ryker and will be installing them tonight. It's a surprise. Also bought 2 dog carriers and goggles for the pups and will be figuring that out. They love riding in the truck so I'm sure they'll love it on the bikes as well.

What sort of goggles did you find? I guess I should ask what kind of dogs you have, also. Ours are mini-Dachshunds. I've always been a bit leery of putting them on the 2-wheelers, but feel a little bit better about possibly having one of them on my tricycle.

Put another 85 miles on my new Spyder. No photos, no stops, about an hour and a half in the saddle. Yesterday on my morning ride I did stop in a local state park for a photo op (shown in Avatar), and the day before that I took a nice jaunt down the road about 75 miles to a fresh veggie stand to get some squash, tomatoes, and fried peanuts.

Yesterday I did a morning ride (about an hour), later made a grocery run, and replaced my temporary tag with my new, current tag that I picked up from the DMV.

We just got back from an eight day, two up, trip to Maine. We started from Philadelphia, headed north into New York state, crossed into Vermont, New Hampshire, and up to Millbridge Maine on the coast.
Several firsts for my wife:
Multi-day ride
Riding in rain
Longest ride in a day, 284 miles
Riding in a heat wave, 3 days of 96 degree F highs
Stopping for ice cream before 10:00 am

Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine are beautiful states to ride in.

We traveled just under 1500 miles. The few times we were on interstates I found I frequently wanted another gear. For two days in the middle of the trip the bike kept going into Limp Mode, with VSS error, and check DPS warnings. We pulled over took pictures of the fault codes. Shut the bike down and took a butt break waiting for the buffers to clear. Then we rode on. The last three days were error free. Convinced the errors are the result of riding on twisty, undulating, rough surface roads with off camber turns, and high crowns. Something is loose or poorly grounded.

Sounds like a great trip (minus the troubles). Glad you made it home OK.
My wife and I are interested in riding the coast of Maine, heard that it's a pretty drive.

A nice trip might be take to Hwy 6 across northern Pennsylvania, pickup 209 in Port Jervis, NY and take that to Kingston NY. Cross the Hudson River there and head north to Bennington VT. At Bennington get on 9 east to Concord NH. From there take 202 east across the rest of NH and into Maine. If you plan to go when the leaves are in color make reservations ahead of time.
