It's been raining here, so no ride.
I bought a Battery Tender Jr awhile back to use both with my Spyder and with my John Deere lawn tractor.
I used it on the JD first, only to discover that the battery was bad. So I took the JD battery to a local Batteries Plus shop, where they confirmed it was bad, and sold me a replacement. The battery that was in the JD was the original, and was about 6 years old.
I've been meaning to hook the battery tender up to my Spyder, and that's what I did today.
It took me longer to cut enough out of the oval rubber grommet to run the cable from the battery area into the frunk then to hook up the cable to the battery.
The wall unit flashed red before I connected it to the newly installed cable, then went solid red.
The flashing red indicates it's not connected correctly to a battery, which was true, and the solid red indicates its connected and charging.
It's been a couple of hours and it's still solid red. It will flash green when it gets to an 80% charge on the battery, and solid green when it's 100% charged.
It's supposed to be dry and warm for the next couple of days, so I may go for a ride tomorrow.
Then come back and plug it in again. :spyder:
Edit:
Here's how the cable is routed in the frunk. I know some people use the round plug on the right of this picture, which is the left side of the Spyder.
But I park my Spyder in my garage so the right side of the Spyder is close to the wall where the Battery Tender is plugged in, so it made sense to me go to out the side closest to the plug.
