• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Took delivery on a new 2019 RTL and got a short ride in before the sun cooked me medium-well. It's 110+ here today.

I watched Nuke's video about installing bright LED rear turn signal bulbs and was inspired to do that to my F3L after seeing how dull the stock ones are. Ordered a pair and put them in. Holy Lumens Batman, those suckers are REALLY bright! There will be no doubt now when my flashers or turn sigs are on.

Yesterday got the Shad brake light installed. Thought I would have issues with connectors but the local Autobarn had the correct ones so a nice neat job. Previous weekend did my first oil and filter change on Spydey. GPS mount I think will be next.

Some repairs and upgrades.

I just got my 08 Spyder GS SM5 back from the shop after almost a month. Had the DPS Unit replace :banghead:, new front tires, ball joint replaced and had an alignment done.
They also fixed two recalls. Something with a gas evap hose and a new gas cap. I replaced the battery when I bought it. I got it from my local Batteries Plus store.

In the last week since I got it back. I've replaced the Frunk seal. I got it from Spyderprops

Then I removed the rear Pin Up Girl decal that came on it. (https://amzn.to/3gUPbLy)

I've left the decal on the front on for now. I've gotten some compliments and she's growing on me.

I also upgraded the headlight bulbs. I ended up using Sylvania (H7) SilverStar zXe Gold bulbs.

I got a key holder and key chain. Link shows it in red. Wasn't able to find the blue one. (Link on my past orders has changed)

I'm a Star Wars fan so that explains the key chain (https://amzn.to/2BYA7hf).

And lastly I got a cover for it. Which I have yet to put on, cause I've been driving it almost everyday since I got the Spyder back from the shop.

I'm having too much darn fun on the Spyder!

Performed my first oil change. Did the change on the garage floor with a bucket shallow enough to slide under the Spyder. Learned a lot as I went along (watched Lamonster's video before starting). Pretty sure that I can do the next one in half the time.

Did my first and hardest, of course, oil change. Hard because I didn't know all the tools needed. The good news is, next time will be easier and my uphill sloping driveway gets the bike level without having to lift the back end.

Hmmm, I like it, wonder if it would work on the 20 RTL? I need to check if the drain plugs are at the rear of the oil pan.
The plugs are almost at the rear, enough that most oil will drain out. However, my slanted driveway had the bike perfectly level.

Moved the left floorboard from "3" to "4". Once I saw how easy it was, I ordered the Lamonster "4" brake rod, which will allow me to move the right floorboard to position "4" and lower the brake pedal angle. I haven't liked the brake position/angle since I got the bike a month ago, and now I'm going to make that adjustment for a more comfortable ride. The dealer forgot to fit me for Ufit, and I don't want to bring it back. Less aggravation to just DIY. And let's face it, it's fun to work on the bike......

Not today but in the last week my 19 RTL has gotten a Baja Ron sway bar, Lamonster highway pegs, Lamonster belt tensioner and a 22" windshield.

I know mine made quite a difference.

My project for today, tackform phone mount from Motorcycle Dave mounted on Lamonster's spydercuff. Had to tap the ball to 1/4 by 20 from metric and use a longer cap screw but works great.

Shameless plug for 2 of our sponsors...

Added the Zumo XT to my 2020 RTL. 3M auto double back tape to a 2 1/2" 1" ball base mounted to the dash and ran the connection out from the slot in the back of the dash (gently bent the opining wider to pull the connection through).
