• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I took a ride to Brooks Powersports in Grantsville Pa. yesterday to get my alignment done.

They were nice enough to lend me a demo RT and gave me a recommendation to a local diner to go to for breakfast, the Skyline diner.

Breakfast was great and when I got back they had found an issue with the tie rods. One was all the way in and the other was all the way out.

I was surprised as I had not noticed this so I suspect this was another issue leftover from the reframe done by another dealer so I had some extra time to spend there and talk with a nice gentleman that was buying an rt and a couple of other people that were picking up their rykers all with big smiles on their faces.

Even though it is really out of the way for me they have really won me over as my go to dealer.

So this finally completes my yearly maintenance and all I need now is gas and time to enjoy the season. Next year plans is to upgrade from Rons standard to his ultra bar and maybe install a s model right hand control for cruise control.

I did nothing today but I did order the new Pedal Box Pro from lamonster over the weekend. It's bluetooth so not need to install the module on the handlebars.

Here's a couple of pics of the wife's bike. I added more color to the top case, removed the can-am stickers from the air filter cover and changed it to the name of her bike, and I added a couple of 3D printed covers with the name of her bike as well.

Just finished installing seat heaters from Motorcycle Dave. Must say the seat removal and install on my 2015 RT is a real PIA.:yikes:

Added 1.5 cm of preload to front shocks.

Went for a ride. MUCH better ride and a smidgen sharper handling on curves. I still plan to install higher weight coil springs on the original Fox shocks. Either 300 or 350 pounds.

While riding I went through two torrential downpours. Standing water in the road. The new Vredesteins cut through the water as if it were dry pavement. The rear, stock Kenda tire, original (made in 2014) with plenty of tread, fish-tailed repeatedly. Interesting and almost fun, but now I'm thinking I'll need to add a real tire to the back of the bike soon.

Took it back to the dealer to have them replace a newly-installed front tire that was out of round and causing vibration in the front end (thanks, Kenda!). This is the first set of replacement tires I've put on the F3 and it'll be the last Kendas it'll wear as long as I own it. Would have gone aftermarket but wasn't sure if I could get them mounted. Of course, that info became available just after I'd gotten the tires changed!

I have had my rear Vredestein fishtail in the rain but that was during those torrential downpours that went through Tenn. and Ky. last July and flooded places out. I was in the heavy part of one storm going through Blue Ridge City Tenn. on my way to the Cherohala Skyway in Tellico plains.

I was able to do about 25 mph safely in a heavy enough down pour that it was running down the hills on the road in sheets. Once I pushed it past 25 and got around 30 it would start to fishtail, but I wanted to go slow anyway as the last thing I wanted to do is get past my clearance with the water in a place where it was ponded and swamp the frunk area in a huge puddle. It was great when I looked down at the front fenders, they were like two pumps throwing water out to the sides. Plus, I had some jerk in an F350 coming the opposite direction go out of his way to hit a puddle which caused a wave of water to hit me. Luckily, I had on my raingear real tight and only had the water that infiltrated my vents on my helmet run down my neck. Once I got to Tellico Plains, I took my suit off and was completely dry to enjoy my evening ride on the Skyway.

But in normal rain when I left Roanaoke Va. on that same trip I was able to do highway speeds on I-81 and didn't have any issues at all. Blue Ridge City was an awful extreme for a half hour on the approach from Ga. the sky was just an awful evil black, at least I heeded the warning and geared up before I started through it.

I installed the new Pedal Box Pro from lamonstergarage but it got too late for me to try it out. Hopefully Friday since tomorrow is supposed to rain. I'm curious to see how much of a difference it makes.

Phone fast charger and volt meter working good. The blue display is hard to read in the sunlight but it's readable at a stop if needed.

Heading to my dealer tomorrow (5-19) for the brake switch recall, oil change and check up for the PA and SD trips this year. 80 degrees and sunny today at work - forecast tomorrow for the 85 mile ride to the shop -- 70 degrees and rain all day. If you're going to ride, sooner or later you're going to get wet.

Removed foam grip covers I installed at the end of the last ryding season. Caused cramped hands. Made the grips to big I guess, stock grips are good now.

Picked my Spyder up from the dealer.
Pulley recall completed.
Finished fabricating my Handlebar mirrors.
Installed the GPS and XM radio.
I'm ready to ryde...
