• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Wow, a little over a year with no problems and blam -- when to ride yesterday and couldnt get Spyder to shift out of 1st Gear. BRP Roadside assistance on the way. Just wonder how long it will take to fix at Coleman Motorsports in Falls Church.

Wish me luck!

Guess you have an SE5 ???

Did you do the 'manual shift release' thing listed in the manual?

Did you try removing the key for several minutes, then restarting? Or get the wrench out and manually take it out of first?

You mean there's a manual for this thing?:joke:

Yo Degaman!
Shouldn't that be Veni Vidi Vici?
I came, I saw, I conquered?

I like
Veni, Vidi, Visa
I came, I saw, I charged it.:D

Coleman sux
Their customer service is

Drop it off we'll fix it when we get around to it

Maybe ok for a skidoo but for a daily driver it bites

BRP needs to educate it's dealers on how to service a vehicle ppl use everyday

:agree: BRP has been good to me! And by buying 13 Jet Skies I have been good to them BUT They need to place More and More emphasis on getting the techs Trained Up on working on these Terrific machines!!!!!!!
Too many people have waited Toooo long for their machine to be repaired~!
If the Dealer does not provide service up to BRP Standards They should lose their Spyder Franchise!nojoke

:agree: and there should also be some type of an inspection system to ensure they are performing to standard. I know of at least one shop that has no certified Spyder techs at all. :dontknow:

Suspect Spyder owners/operators in some areas are different.
Allow me to explain. Most (not all) people use their recreational devices only on weekends or on a summer vacation. That philosophy can apply to Ski-Doo and Sea-Doo devices. Motorcycles and Spyders are often used as daily commuting devices in the the better weather locations.

Often the dealer is NOT made aware of this situation.

Perhaps as has been suggested BRP should perhaps advise their dealers that during the good riding seasons, those Spyders should be given preference.

Riders of large touring motorcycles usually get faster service at dealers on an emergency basis than small machines including sport machines.

Regardless frustration having a logic system problem (which this may well be) can drive the owner nuts, waiting for a viable and easy solution.

Best of luck in your situation.

Have always thought an emergency FAQ should be part of every owner's handbook.

Update

Coleman in FALLS CHURCH VA has been great so far -- They think it is a wire short that caused the problem and have already ordered the DPS recall parts -- BEN was very nice and gave me a timeline -- so far so good
