• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Trailer help (info)

Fairly new to the forum, and spyder. I have a 2015 RTS. I've found myself in need of a trailer sooner
than I expected. Seeing that BRP says the trailers are unavailable at this time. At lease the web site
said so. Really didn't want to have pay that much anyway. Question! If I buy a aftermarket trailer with
a 4 pin wiring, can I convert the connection and if so, how. Also, if the bike goes into limp mode, can
I simply disconnect the trailer and it will clear up? Plans change, wify wants to go with me so hello trailer.
Any help or advice would be appreciated. Oh, by the way, at this time I have nothing electrical added to
the factory harness.

Be thankful, get a tankful, and ride.

I have pulled an aftermarket 4 pin trailer behind my 2014RT for thousands of miles with no difficulty.. Can't answer your question on limp mode because I have never seen one while pulling the trailer. Any other limp modes I have had for spurious reasons have always cleared with a simple reset process...

I will assume that you have the BRP hitch and the harness that comes with it. It has the 4 pin square connector. I am also assuming the trailer will come with the 4 pin flat connector. So it boils down to connecting a 4 pin square to a 4 pin flat connector.
Solution 1 is to cut the 4 pin flat off the trailer and replace it with a 4 pin square.
Solution 2 is to cut the 4 pin square off the Spyder and replace it with a 4 pin flat.
Solution 3 is to get a 4 pin flat and a 4 pin square. wire them together making an adapter.

Next. I really don't have any idea how an aftermarket trailer would cause limp mode or a BRP trailer for that matter. As long as the towing harness installed in the Spyder is isolated as it always should be. There will be no problem. The BRP harness is isolated.

We have a "Mini-trailer USA" a vendor on home page, great folks and great trailers.they made us a square to flat convertor cable(extra$)and we have had no problems or limp modes from it,check them out, much cheaper then BRP ones

I simply took a standard flat four, split it and folded it into a square for, zip tied it together and plugged it in!
