• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Third break light, yes or no

I've got....

The very first farkle I installed on our '12 RTL was the Custom Dynamics HMT Run/Brake light. Never had a problem with it! I recommend as many as possible!
I'm in the group that would like to be "SEEN FROM SPACE" when it comes to lighting, so I've added a bunch and will continue to do so, until it my co-pilot tells me it's too much!

BTW- the CD HMT comes with a long thick plastic threading needle (for lack of a better term) that I've used on almost ever other wiring job to date. So, good to start out with that piece of hardware.

We went with Spyderpops' turn/brake/tail light surround and really like it. The LED's lay in the gaps of the side compartments and trunk lid. I think it offers a bit more than just the top light. But, they all offer more than what these things come with for rear lighting. We haven't had any issues at all with the Spyderpops setup. We have a 2010 RT.

Forgot to mention on Monday with Really fast shipping from Tricled "Cindy" I got the 3rd and 4th run/brake set the new red/amber saddlebag set, and from custom dynamics the Mud Flap Light which can be wired as run/brake they send the converter in the package. so the next rainy day i have new Farkles to install :yes: To which the Wife said cha ching and I said "Safety Chrome". nojoke

I bought from Spyderpops " RT brake Rear lighting kit......Brake/Run/turn and they are bright,
and when I put my directionals on cars/ trucks behind me can SEE ME. This is what I have: Rear LED lights+ turning signals 001.jpg
I have the saddlebag LED'S and the LED strip between brake lights, LED'S on truck lip.

I have a 2014RTS-SE6.

This is what we had put on at Spyderfest. Very nice

Does your LED'S blink when you put your turn signals on?

I bought from Spyderpops RT Brake/Run/Turn and they blink when I put my turn signals.

No. The 3rd and 4th brakelights function only as running lights and turnsignals. I plan on adding 3 function LED lighting down in the saddlebag area, and of course: the HMT. :D

One more thing!

I highly recommend the Custom Dynamics HMT brake light. I also added the Magic strobe modulator to be able to change the brake flash pattern. I went one step further though and removed the 3M sticky tape that they put on the back of it to mount and applied clear silicon adhesive. Several reasons......1. Easier to remove IF you ever had to replace. 2. Waterproof. 3. Conformed to trunk lid better without sticking out from the tape.

Directions were straight forward and easy!

Good luck with whatever you decide.

That's probably more of a personal opinion that is based upon one's perspective... nojoke
If my bike is broke: to me, that's a problem
If your bike is broke: to me, that's just an issue! :D

No, it's not a personal opinion. Words have definitions, and these two words address different levels of a situation (which you seem to have gotten reversed, above). Here's a clue:

Every issue arises from some underlying problem.
But not every problem rises to an issue.

To me, it's saddening that this whole country now seems to have discarded this distinction. Just because in the past, some nerd thought it would sound more sophisticated to (mis)use "issue" as a synonym for "problem." His insouciance does not make it true!

I bought the third brake light with flashing warnings ( can turn on and off with switch ) the better you can be seen the better and safer you are...

Installed properly the 3rd light will not be a problem, even if you add a trailer later. Exsseive leds could cause issues & better suited for display only. Tricled does offer the quality & professional install i had them add brake lights at spyderfest '14 image.jpg very well worth it & will add the fender lights later, happy ever after.
Having a ST the Hmt 3rd light was not an option so i opted to add reflectors to my helmet at firstimage.jpg is well seen too fyi. There is also the wireless breaklight option http://jccomputac.com :thumbup:handy & can be done without adding wiretaps

I had the CD brake light put on my RT over three years ago and it works perfectly. IMHO it's one of the "must" add-ons.

Am I missing a good flame war that will escalate to real name calling ?
Or is this just good natured banter.
I'd be disappointed to miss a flame war.

As to the original question posed by the OP, I have the High Mount third brake light mounted on Tornado.
I have it set up as the brake light and running light. I had considered getting the turn signal option however I was told by CD that the turn signal option did not play well with the 2014 and higher model year.

Someone (probably finless Bob) made a comment about how the tape supplied by CD makes for a sloppy installation by causing a gap between the HMT and the trunk of the Spyder. They recommended removing the tape and gluing the light in place with some silicone.
This is true, however Tornado is Timeless Black, and I was able to clean up the installation by using black silicone to fill in this gap.

Post a picture of your 3 function LED lighting down in the saddlebag area.

 Now you've got me confused...
(Don't be alarmed: it happens all of the time! :D)
Are you having problems with my issues, or am I having issues with your problems? :dontknow:

Nope, no flame war from me. We're all friends here, and it's nothing personal, just a peeve about misused words. :sour:

Golly Bob, I didn't mean to confuse you (or anyone else). I thought my two sentences in the middle of the post adequately explained why a problem and an issue are NOT the SAME THING. I could explain further if necessary, but it would be without jokes.
I didn't really want to hijack this thread, I was just adding another comment to your post about "two different things."
I hope you're out ryding with much too much happiness to worry about this, like me! It's Ryding Season, right? (That's why I'm so late with this response. Sorry!)
