• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Problem I haven't seen on the site.

I have about 600 miles on my 14 RT LTD. Running around town yesterday I noticed what looked like some type of fluid on the inside of my Tach and speedometer gauges. After closer inspection it is not water...looks almost like some type of heavier liquid. It was very slowly running down the inside of the gauge cover. Anybody seen this before?:dontknow:

I wonder if it might be protectorant or something the dealer prepped/cleaned the bike with? :dontknow:

My 2013 RT-Limited has the same type of issue. It looks like someone sprayed cleaner on the inside of the guages. You don't notice mine in the sun; inside is when you can see it the most.

I also have it on my 2012 RT , I am pretty careful around there when washing, but who knows some water may have snuck in there!

It's water that stains the backside. If you washed your Spyder and directed a stream of water from a hose nozzle at the cluster it forced water into this area of the cluster. I know better and still manage to forget this fact and have the stain on my 2014 RT.
This looks thicker then water..not really sure. Haven't washed it yet...just wipe downs after each use. Gonna run to the beach today so will keep checking it out and if not gone will go see the dealer. Thanks for the input!

Try parking it so that you can get some sunlight on it...
That might just dry it out...

With all due respect, it is in fact the trail left by water that has evaporated. This water has managed to enter the instrument cluster because the only "seal" consists of a miniscule amount of silicone sealant applied to the rim of the cluster before the lens
was installed at the factory that made the cluster. This is a well known problem and has been around since 2008. The trail has been called "snail trails", etc.
You asked for information, people like us who have or had the problem told you what it is. There is no "protectorent" (sic) or oil or any other substance that causes this problem other than water infiltrating behind the lens.
It is easily repaired. After removing the cluster, carefully unclip the lens and clean it with a soft cloth and any plastic cleaner and reinstall. If that is not sufficient, you can replace the lens from BRP parts for about $13.
Hope this helps!

The lens is replaceable and comes with new gasket. The inside of the lens is not hard coated and can easily be scratched.

As I see it..!!

clusters having this problem since they started making them are warrantied. Some shops repair them but many just replace them and you loose the mileage and clock accumulated. Many, with the ability, repaired them on their own to avoid starting over. Check with your dealer about water streaking on cluster lens..

I do not think it will dry out, I personally think it is watever the sealed the plastic with. Been meaning to ask my dealer about this, but do not get there too often. Will try and do it before my warranty expires!

Why not try this approach then? :dontknow:

It couldn't hurt, to give it a try... :D

Nope... I haven't had to fix one yet... ;)
I know that I've heard of other folks who have taken it apart; how did you fix yours? :dontknow:

Okay... so you didn't take yours apart...
How do we know that the instructions given by kyspyder won't work?
If it is glue; does it matter who takes uit apart, and cleans it out? :dontknow:

I have taken mine apart  anything you do to it will not make it look like it should. It IS a warranty item. Are you turning into Bobgyver?

Okay; HOW do you take it apart? I think that our O.P. might find that information useful. :D
