MURPHYBROWN'S Trailer

Curious..!!

although it has no moving parts to speak of seems it will need extensive study and analyzation...:roflblack: An exchange seems fair with a reimbursement for tires and labor she paid for. If the trailer was from..say harbor freight..I would say okay how unfortunate but these are not cheap and carry their name..hope they finish helping her out with this problem...jmo...

We are kind of waiting to hear the final outcome on this. I am sure Murphybrown will get back to us. These things seem to take an inordinate amount of time for all the details to get worked out. I am guessing that no news is good news.

Update soon

Was wondering what has transpired with your trailer issue? Any word?

Thoughts and :pray: go with you all.

Cann't believe how bad it is in your area. A month ago we were traveling through that area for Heart of Washington. And 2 weeks ago wife and I rode though there coming back from Oak Harbor over North Cascades Pass. Saw on news tonight Chelan is full of fire refugees. Prayers out to all.

Karyl.....I'll be thing and hoping for the best in your surrounding communities,,,,wildfires are bad

Having a relaxed cup of coffee sooo here is update on trailer

GM. First thanks to all of you for kind words and prayers..for the moment fires are not "out of control". Wind has died down...temps have dropped 20+ degrees and finally they are able to bring in incident teams to fight these fires. Since there are fires literally N,S,E and W surrounding this area it has been focus on saving life. Now they will start working on attacking the still 0% contained fires. Chelan is becoming the hub for evacuees...firefighters...etc. Ball fields and rodeo grounds will fill up with tents and all the support teams that come with the firefighters. Enough of that..on to the trailer.
I have learned sooooo much...so what I share is what I have learned for me to deal with this problem without either shooting myself or someone else!!! :yikes::yes:
First and foremost I have a dealer that I purchased from that goes in 200% for their customers. That is one of the main reasons I choose to buy in MO from Pitbull Powersports..over the years I went to Spyderfest starting with Cuba and now in Springfield. I have watched Len and Vanessa closely as to how they treat their customers.
So just a quick background if you are new to "what's with her trailer". I purchased a new 622 trailer end of April from Pitbull. I am an OCD person so I read and talked to folks about how to load trailer..I literally weigh everything I put in when I leave on a trip. I have never even got close to recommended weight capacity (I never officially checked tongue weight, but had an expert "heft" my trailer tongue and he said you are FINE.). Bottom line I have gone through 3 sets of trailer tires in slightly over 4500 miles. I am on set #4...823 miles and down to 2/32 measured on right tire..shade more on left. I have had Pitbull in loop since first set went...they stepped in and got BRP to reimburse for those tires...when I got to Colorado Springs and having 3rd set mounted I called Vanessa and said ENOUGH...so knowing that BRP would want me to take trailer to authorized dealer...she found me a dealer on my way home in Logan, Utah..made the calls to give them a heads up (this was 4th of July weekend folks)...I was waiting at their doorstep Tuesday morning when they opened. Great folks, very helpful: Renegade Sports, Logan..Utah. Said we will work you in..no time guarantees..said no problem..got coffee (aaaa NO...Utah folks!!)..but we do have popcorn. I said GREAT..so they made a big batch of fresh popcorn..the leather couch was of nap quality and I had books/sudoku..what else does a gal need?
Soon I notice they came in and pulled a brand new 622 from the showroom floor. They had filed a warranty issue with BRP...called BRP tech service and I quote what they wrote on the Repair Order: "remove wheels and inspect all components. Cannot find any damage or signs of impact. All bearings are OK. Measured HUB alignment, right side has a discrepancy between the front of the hub and the rear of the hub as measured to the frame. Discrepancy is approx. 5mm toed in at the front. Contacted BRP and discussed options for changing alignment. There is no procedure. I was able to loosen the grame mount bolts and "tweak" the frame, Got the discrepancy down to about 1/5mm. This was as close as I could get it. Installed New Tires."
OK I say hmmmm close is good in horseshoes...will see what happens. BRP paid for tires and their couple hours of work "tweaking"...
Next day head home 823 miles to Chelan...checking tires all the way home...when I was traveling Horse Heaven Hills noticed a couple bikers behind me after LaGrande, OR...nothing unusual lots of bikers out...I pull into Pendleton,OR for fuel and they stop also. Walk over and say 'ma'am do you know your trailer is not tracking true behind your bike?' Told them thanks and we had conversation.
Get home to Chelan (fyi that was the day I realized I can easily accomplish an iron butt..left 6:45 ish a.m. pulled into Chelan Safeway for supplies at about 10:30 p.m.!!!). Next morning I say hmmm better check tire tread (by now I have given up on the penny and purchased on 'official' tread measurer). Right tire is barely at 2/32 and left is a smidge deeper. So I call Vanessa at Pitbull and say...that's it...tell BRP time to replace this piece of crap (yep that's what I said) trailer. Vanessa gets right on it. I am thinking wow this is going to be a simple thing of BRP saying yep dealer says here is problem we respond we don't have fix...etc etc etc...:roflblack::roflblack::banghead::banghead::dontknow::dontknow:...dream on murphybrown. OK timeline...that was Tuesday...Vanessa and I go back and forth as BRP asks ?'s like: Need a copy of video showing does not travel true? I :roflblack: say let me find Spyder TV!!! Finally on Thursday I ask Vanessa for an update...she gets back to me and says I need to contact Carlo directly at BRP (includes phone #) as BRP asked her to 'step out'. So bright an early I call what I think is Carlo's number...:banghead:. Are you kidding me..it is general customer service and they act like I am an alien. I give my case # and she says Sorry don't have...will have to start a new case and you will be served in the order you came in and there are customers in front of you. My response...please get me to your supervisor. She says I can only transfer you to the "issues department"..thank you please do that. I wait and wait and wait (timed 18 minutes) and get disconnected. Call back customer service agent #2...of course she has no information and former agent did not enter anything in computer (by now I am saying to self, please let me evaluate agent #1 and personally will hand her a pink slip)...so we do the same dance and she says 'I can only transfer you to the "issues department"...phew they got that script down. Please do...oh yea and neither person even knew of anyone named Carlo. OK agent #3 answers phone after only 8 minutes of hold..like always I ask for name and dept and employee number (folks lesson #2 keep very accurate notes including time lines)...he is another customer service agent...I said I'm suppose transferred to issues department. Oh no can't do that have to get all information again. Now this agent can find the case #...phew progress. BUT says even though he knows of a Carlo there are no notes from Pitbull...and the best he can offer me is to put me in queue and when my case comes to the top it will be handed to the next "specialist". I thank him...:banghead::banghead:. Hang up go freakin' :yikes::yikes: .... find my chill pills (actually go jump in the lake, literally). Come back call Vanessa and say hope you are sitting down. I said I need a way to directly get in contact with Carlo.
Here is where having a great dealer comes into play. By the next morning I have not only a phone call from Carlo as well as an email. I was out helping gather supplies for evacuees and taking to HSchool for distribution. So I missed his call. That night I read his email. Phew things are looking up. Is problem solved. NO. But I am back to feeling hopeful. My next step is I have to AGAIN get trailer to a dealer. Have to be honest here. are you freakin' kidding me been there done that..read Logan Utah dealer report. OK rant done...My dealer options: #1 - 4 hrs one way to a dealer that will take trailer, has no idea when can look at...just leave here (response from me thanks). #2- only 5 miles closer than #1...we are brand new and not really set up yet (response thanks). #3 - dealer I have used for all service in past..4.5 hrs away...whoops head tech has left...other indicators that dealership is no longer healthy. #4 is a new dealer only 2 hours away...they are willing and asked for me to forward info to them. I'm hopeful they will say 'come on over' we are willing to jump BRP hoops and hopefully get this resolved sooner than later.
I am leaving August 10 on a 3-4k trip in and through WA, OR, CA and I reallllly want to use my trailer. Right now at minimum needs 5th set of tires..but more importantly it is becoming a safety issue.
OK that it is the update. Off to do something positive for rest of day...
Thank you all for your concern and ?..
Have a great day/weekend...this is the moment you have embrace and enjoy it.

Trailer

Karyl, i'm so sorry you are having all these problems...sounds like BRP does not want to look at your problem...good luck and pls keep us informed....

PS is you want to can borrow my trailer for the trip if I am home from the redwood run by the 10th....only problem might be that mine is not a BRP trailer and getting the lights to work could be interesting and you probably have to ship your stuff that goes in the trailer over here to Oly.

I'm disappointed about the treatment you've received from BRP's customer no-service department. And kudos to Vanessa for stepping in like she did. Here's hoping the dealer #4 will be able to trade your trailer out for one that's right.

BTW, Karyl, if you can make Satan say, "Oh, crap! She's awake," you should be able to put the fear of God into BRP!

Karyl,

I am so sorry you having problems with your trailer and I know how important it is to have your equipment in good running order. Carlo is a good person with helping resolve problems because he was helping Charlyene with her ST issues. So from talking to FB you are in good hands and I am praying that you get the issue resolved quickly and you can enjoy your trips without worrying about your trailer tires. Anyway I have a great day my friend and I am praying for you and all the volunteers helping with all the wild fires in your area....:pray::pray:

Hey murph. It's too bad that this happened.....don't get you blood pressure up.....smile you got more patients than me...I would have crawled thru the phone a strangled someone...."

See ya on the road soon I hope

Howard and Ann

Good lord. seems like BRP customer service is like the old joke ... Who's on First? :banghead:

It just can't be that hard as they make it. BTW ... I am still waiting on a return call from BRP for two plus weeks. I've left three messages and several emails. I guess it's a rabbit hole there.

You are one heck of a lady Murphybrown. :firstplace: You have exhibited patience above and beyond what most of us could muster up.

Your interactions with BRP customer service read like a Spielberg "department from Hell" kind of script.

I hope BRP is reading this thread. This is not the kind of advertisement they need when coming off of the famous 2013 "issues year." Many of us have not forgotten all of that fun and games.

Once again, they get caught up on stuff where the person answering the phone cannot go beyond their script, they cannot transfer to a supervisor, they don't even know the person you are supposed to talk with (I am thinking it is a made up name for problems (like Dr. Blue in the hospital)).

Your problem is way beyond customer service newby #1 and should be going to a real person that knows about your case and has the authority to make customer satisfaction happen by getting the problem solved.

Here, there is a problem. They need to take the trailer back and find out what the heck is wrong with it. They need to replace your trailer with a loner for now and eventually a new one. You spent a whole lot of money on the package, and you have had to dance around when it comes to getting an issue fixed.

This brings back many scary memories to many of us.

We are waiting and watching. Are you listening BRP Care?

And I apologize for not making that very clear...sure it took me working my :banghead: down so that I did not became rude and not respecting the person on the phone. Sure was nice to be able to call Pitbull/Vanessa and she has become the "ger 'er done gal". Because shortly thereafter Carlo made contact and now I am hopeful that I have been HEARD. THANKS all you fine folks.

My reply was stronger than needed. When I jump into consumer advocate mode, I sometimes tend to become very passionate.

Glad to hear they contacted you for real, are hopefully going to become pro-active and solve your problem.

 Well... this just flat out stinks! :gaah: (or WORSE!)
Karyl,
You've got the best Team on the Planet working on your behalf; I'm sure that they'll be able to move some Mountains for you! :2thumbs:
So in the meantime...
You and your Town will be in our thoughts and prayers!:pray:
Or; as I would caution my Bestest friends in this situation: "Don't git Burnt-Up!" nojoke

Karyl, I hate that you are going through this trailer crap. Just remember to get everything in writing (email) from BRP they have been known to conveniently forget what they promised.

I'll do a rain dance for you.
