Looking for Columbus OH Spyder service center recommendations

I have a 2013 RT SE5 that is having problems with lurching on downshifts, shift lagging in gears 1 - 3 and has stuck in third a couple of times where I had to manually tap the downshift numerous times to get it back to 1st gear. I need to find a top notch service center in central Ohio for this repair. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Took it to Grove City and they had it for two weeks, lost my key and never contacted me. I had to call twice, no call from them. Seems like they are struggling in their service center so I'm looking for a different service center. Do you have any experiences with any others in the area?

Thanks

I actually just got my Spyder a week ago, so I haven't had service done on it yet. If you find a good one let me know & good luck to you!

Service

I bought my RTS from ask. Never went back. Service manager didn't seem to have the time to ever answer any of my questions. Rude staff & ask has many negative comments on their website. I take mine to Johnny k in Lodi. Very helpful & always very courteous. Not a bad drive to their shop. Just off I71 north on rt 80. Definitely worth the drive.

By the way, it's route 83 not 80.

Do not take it to ASK. I received my bike back from them with missing bolts that I had to replace. They are the worst customer service I have ever dealt with. There is a guy in the Marysville area that is good. I don't know his name off hand.

When I was first looking at Spyders in 2014, I swore I would never set foot in an ASK dealership based on a bad experience several years ago with a new 2003 Kawasaki Nomad. Went to Johnny K's in Lodi, had a great sales experience. Went there again in June this year to buy an F3 Ltd. for the wife and again had a great experience. Had to take it back a couple of weeks later to have the belt replaced under warranty and they got it in and out in less than an hour. It is worth the extra miles to go North on I-71.

Can you find out for the rest of us in central Ohio? Thanks

Any one having issues with the Ask location off of Brice Road exit? Seem's like everyone is complaining about the other 2 but never mention that one. I've always had great dealings with that location. Not sure if it's just luck or what.

Good service

I have had very good service using Jackson Honda Suzuki in Jackson Ohio . The only problem with them is they are very busy and usually have a backlog . The tech there is very good and will actually talk to you . They do not hesitate to call BRP right from the get go . They have heard all the complaints about the other dealer .

I have bought both my Spyders from the ASK dealership on Scarborough Drive on the east side of Columbus. Dealt with Patty on both buys, a 2012 RT Ltd then a 2014 RT Ltd with a RT622 trailer. Happy with both buys. I do most of my own maintenance and farkle adds. When I need dealer service I deal with Ed (mgr of maintenance and Patty's husband). I have always had very friendly welcomes and no issues with quality and cost of services provided.
I have heard stories of difficulties with ASK locations in both Lancaster and Grove City but since I have not been to either location I have no comment. It is a family owned business, father and two daughters.
If you are not treated with respect, I agree, don't return.

Two thumbs up

Tim at Black Widow is awesome...been taking our Spyders....all six of them over the past six years, to him. Our RT is there right now for an oil change and he found a defect in the throttle body and is replacing it under warranty. I know that saved us the trouble of sitting on the side of a road waiting for a tow when the whole throttle body broke...don't ask how I know this.

i took our Spyders a couple of times to Ask on Brice Road and had great service. The third time though, they broke a part off my bike and tried to hide it from me. When I asked, they said it was no big deal and the bike would ride fine without it..... Needless to say, we won't be returning to Ask.

That's where and who I deal with... never an issue that they haven't resolved in sales or service. Our family has bought 4 Spyders, 4 ATV's and a side by side from them since '09.

Re black widow I

Is Black Widow also a Spyder dealer now ? If not how are they doing warranty work ? I was told you have to be a dealer for this .

Thanks for the info, I've scheduled maint for the Scarborough location, hope I have as good of experience as you have!

Actually was there today, dropping off my brother's Commander for its first service, pick it back up on Friday, and then I take my F3T Special in on the 25 for it's service. If you have any problems with them, make sure to speak with Patty.

I second this experience with this dealership. Patti and Ed... and the whole staff... sales, accessories, parts and service.. have always been exemplary. Purchased my 2012 RT SE-5 (new) there and the bike and I are both very happy with the dealership.
