• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

2022 RT Ltd - fan ran the entire ride home & then would not shut off, even when I shut off the Spyder - anyone else? Any ideas?

I was riding my bike for several hours today, with no problem. We stopped to eat, then noticed on my way home for 45 minutes, the radiator fan came on, and ran all the way home. Even when I pulled in the garage, it was on. Shut off bike, and fan would not shut off. Had to disconnect battery to shut off. Reconnected battery about an hour later, it was still running, so had to disconnect again, and left it that way.
Anyone else hear of this situation, and what caused it?
Dealer can’t get in for week and a half.

Have you checked the antifreeze/water level? Similar thing happened to a friend and it was extremely low on water, to point the motor would shut down.

Check the obvious things first, then go to the manual and read up on the thermostatic fan controls. The water gets too hot, and a sensor turns the fans on. When the water cools back down, the sensor is supposed to turn the fans back off. That is a simplified version, but the answer you seek is somewhere in there.

When all else fails, read the instructions............they are in the manual.

Had a similar issue on my 2020RTL a few years back and it was a sticky relay. Banged on it a few times and it stopped. Did not happen again. The fan will run after key off on hot days to cool down engine.

Hey Steve and Belinda. Looks like a relay issue. While the fans may run a short period of time after turning off the key, they certainly don't run long enough for you to go get your tools, disconnect the battery, and come back an hour later, with the key being off. The attached pic is of your Right Side Fusebox. Remember - RIGHT SIDE AS YOU'RE SITTING ON THE BIKE.

The relay that controls the fan on/off is lower left. The big one. If it's stuck, it draws power directly from the battery and runs the fans. You can just pull that out, reconnect the battery, and see if they stay off. These BRP relays have automotive equivalents available out there, if "smacking" it doesn't suit you. Just go to the auto parts store of your choice and match it up. Much less expensive than BRP OEM parts. Plus, automotive equivalents will probably be in stock.

During the VERY HOT summer of 2021, on my 2018 F3, I too had the problem of the fans not turning on. Sure enough, it was the relays. I purchased the relays (both left fan and right fan same as OEM) from Amazon and the fans have been operating normally ever since.

Here's what you look for on amazon: Song Chuan brand
