There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. 2013 RT Recall Work Done!

Had my recall work completed yesterday @ Pitbull Powersports in Springfield.
(Many thanks to Len and his crew for tackling this job for me)

Trip home to Kansas City today (250 miles) via Purdy Mo at 72 mph on highways 44 & 49, took about 4.5 hours (stopped for lunch in Lamar Mo) Temps ranged between 80 to 87.
My thoughts on the fix:

Pros:
- Personally I like the look of the scoops
- did not notice any additional engine noise
- Tupperware on right side no longer gets hot
- No heat coming up through the seat area & glove box contents stay cool
- Topped off gas twice (both times with over 100 miles on the existing tank) and no sign of boiling gas, plus the neck of the filler is no longer too hot to touch!
- No gas fumes!
- Bike seemed to perform better
- Temp gauge did not get hotter than halfway

Cons: (though not really a con)
- seems more hot air is coming up from beneath the right side foot area however the heat is about 50% less than it has been in the past

This is great to hear. Hope it all works out for everyone. Tom :spyder:

Thanks for the update. Mine is scheduled for next week and our temps are headed for 100+, so this can't happen soon enough.

Dropped Mine off at the shop today. I also was able to see one that had just gotten the recall done and I really liked the look of the new scoops an it didn't seem any louder as it was sitting there running. My dealer said it is actually taking them about twice as long to do the work as BRP said it would but the results look really good.

Good to hear..!!

:congrats: :yes::ohyea::yes: :2thumbs:
So; has this turned the bike into what you always hoped that it'd be? :dontknow:

Well Bob, Let's just say that for now I am far happier than I have been. Should the bike continue to remain at this present state when the warmer temps (90's)arrive, then it will be all that I have wanted it to be. One thought that did come to mind during my road trip yesterday though was since BRP based this fix on un-modified bikes, could the additional air coming from beneath the bike be lessoned any without the upper right side block off plate? For now I will leave the block off in place, but may (just for curiosity sake) remove if the temps on the right foot get too hot once again.

Thank you for the factual report and the great pictures. Fingers crossed--and hoping the fix solves the issues.

Excited about getting mine done. Went for a ride today pre recall. And had serious gas fumes at the end of my ride. Can't wait to get it done

I wonder if the hot air on your right foot could be caused by wind coming out of the West? I know side wind seems to do that on my wife's 2013 RTs Spyder. Just a thought.

from your comments, the recall seems to working well. Time will tell.
