• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. 2013 recall report after long ride 100deg ambient.

Thanks for the reply. Cat bypass does make a considerable difference. I think the header heat wrap also helps allot. Perhaps header heat wrap on the header in front of the MC in conjunction with the MC recall would assist in keeping the MC safer. Heat wrapping this area of the header would be easy. Still waiting on the person that posted the 2013 RT fluid leak/ fire to let us know what the dealer found. I want my wife's Spyder to be as safe as possible, as does everyone who rides them.

Nope on both. I may consider the cat bypass in the future though. As I said as long as the MC isn't already melted or still is too close to the header there is considerable improvement without them but I bet yours IS even better. I am glad I did not take 501 into Myrtle Beach as my route what should take 20 min was 1 1/2 hrs today. It was a 10 mile long parking lot I saw it as I was going in the opposite direction. A fan that turns on with the radiator fan would be a good thing in traffic like that. Being a local I know better than taking that route on Friday afternoon and Saturday morning. There are better ways to get to the beach than a straight line.

:agree: Have been thinking the same thing. IMHO they should have wrapped that instead of putting a shield in front of the MC and wrapping it in tinfoil.

:agree: And I can vouch for the fact that BOTH make a difference. I had the headers wrapped first and then the cat delete. Both made an improvement in the heat problem. I think the cat removal did more. I also agree that it would be a good idea to have the dealer do both or either one while they've got the bike apart. (I realize some dealers wont install the cat bypass. Mine did.)

As many have also said with these two mods; the throttle response is better and the OEM muffler has a better sound IMO.

I'm somewhat confued ...

You have shown us the pictures of the temp readings after the recall work has been done however, what is the significance of these readings? ie: what temps are they comparing to?

Had upgrade done last week and have enjoyed riding it in Florida hot weather....

I am pleased to say that I was one of the first, if not the first, to have the recall upgrade done on my 2013 RT-S by Central Florida Powersports and am very happy with the mods. I have read all the posts for some time and have just waited and let it happen, having all the confidence in the service department. They again didn't disappoint me at all. I can now put things in the glove box without being concerned if they will be ruined by the heat, it now stays cool. The panels are cool while riding and I can feel cool air coming around the seat and around the panels. Yes, we still get warm air from the right side but that just means I won't put my foot in the area of the heat exhaust from the radiator. Maybe someday I will look into putting a panel on that side, if I am assured that I won't interrupt the air flow through the radiator. But, that's another time, right now I will ride in the heat in Florida and not worry that i will catch on fire from the heat or the gas tank won't explode. I can now put fuel in without having splashback until I get a couple of gallons in to cool the tank off, as well as I don't hear the fuel boiling any more.
Great job guys and thanks BRP for more than just a quick fix. As I always say 'anything good is worth waiting for' and this is a good example of that.

I also cant seem to get to the pictures of the heattape/seatlatch. who can help?
