There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. 2013 Can-Am Spyder RT Safety Recall - Elevated Temperature in Engine Compartment

Hi arsquatch,
What I find interesting is that nei
It's no one's intention to keep anyone in the dark here. We announced the recall as early as possible to let folks know what was coming down the pipeline and added that we'd have more details sometime in May; we're still on target for that.

I mentioned that as soon as we had everything lined up and ready to go, that I'd proactively share all the details here, and I will. I completely understand and empathize with your frustration, and we're focused on communicating the plans for the recall as quickly and transparently as possible.

I find it interesting that the two dealers I use have no idea of time for recall work. And still have 2013 for sale. Don't they at least need a time frame to schedule work. Riding season short in the north and have already had 90 degree weather. And why hasn't BRP halted the sale of 2013 till after repair?

I know that it's been tough for you; Hang in there!

And still hanging.

Just saying.. Mid month, today's the 15th....
We continue to wait while still inhaling gasoline :yikes: fumes.:banghead:
Yes I'm very sceptical ..Bob

dealers hate work like this because if it takes any amount to time the mfg. never pays the dealer rates and never allows enough time for the job. so a low volume spyder dealer stands to lose money on this type of work

I would think that since this is not "warranty work" the dealer will get the "full ride" when it comes to billing.

Recalls are like warranty work and some times will pay less.I.m sure the dealers will loose money on this but the big thing is customer satisfactionIf this is done right repeat customers will help the dealers in the long run.Good luck
Bill

The question is will the dealers be ready?

The dealers do not know anything about this recall. Look at past posts on this thread, and you will see many folks saying exactly that. My dealer has no information whatsoever. Bad enough that BRP keeps us in the dark, But not informing dealers of their upcoming workload seems shortsighted to me. Meanwhile, we wait.

Oldguy, Wouldn't informing the dealers be the same thing as informing everybody? All it would take is one employee at one dealer to "leak" the info and EVERYBODY EVERYWHERE knows. ;)

Unless the dealer sees this as additional traffic to their dealership and entices them to buy something. Like update your Spyder and get 10% off...

Just sayin'

Heat

I don't think they will make it this month, I have trying to give then the benifit of the doubt by being patient and optimistic.nojoke
