• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. 2010 RT Windshield Problem

Repair was done this morning... Need a little bit of aluminium paint on it and it will be fine for another 78000 kilometers.ImageUploadedByTapatalk1406733973.442439.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1406733995.718765.jpg

Mine was replaced under the BEST extended coverage and it only cost me the $50 deductible. Also, when mine broke it didn't wind up in my lap, it just flops down onto the upper dash area. You have plenty of time to stop to make roadside repairs. Duct tape and a bungee did it for me.

Mine broke last week on my RTS2010. My dealer told me they have to change the motor assembly just for that little broken arm. It's covered by the base warranty for 1 year, but not with the BEST extension warranty. Here in Quebec, the motor assembly cost 642$ (722$ with taxes) and 3 hours are required for that job.

I'm going to weld this piece is aluminum.

Just to set the record straight, the motor assembly is expensive but the BRP flat rate for replacement is 1/2 hour. I know because I had mine replaced under the factory warranty and all the dealer was allowed to charge was 1/2 hour. It's on my invoice. Then I looked in the shop manual listing all the flat rate times and it is indeed 1/2 hour.

May be, but repair was done this morning and I will keep it that way. I will not spend 700$ for a new motor when he work fine.

Hi,

I have RTS 2010 replace motor windshield assembly last year no warranty but BRP give the part and install by the dealer 45 minutes. This summer i decide to cut my big 27" windshield to release some stress on the bracket and giving me some fresh air and cut it to 21". I'm very happy with my job.

OMG

:gaah::gaah:....This is at least the third time I've posted this .......maybe with the " larger " print it will register .................I have successfully made a repair PIECE to fix " BROKEN ARMS ".......I now have one on my 2014 RT and it's working fine ..........see you at SPYDERQUEST ..... Mikeguyver :2excited:

Really?

None of my business but, I question their accuracy on whether or not it would be covered by the BEST warranty. You may want to check with another dealer (or) call the BEST folks yourself.

:doorag:

I believe this is now correct. I had my first TWO arms replaced while under the original warranty. My third was replaced under BEST, but I was told by my dealer that it was a struggle, and that now, BRP considers this to be a body part and won't replace it under BEST.
If that's the case, the only fair thing would be to have the arm available as a single part instead of the entire mechanism, which, by the way also includes the motor, motor mount and the two side arms.
I fear the only way there will be any action is if newer failures are reported to NHTSA as a safety issue. Possible loss of control of the vehicle when the driver is suddenly confronted with an onrush of air to the face.

Just my opinion, I could be wrong.

Good point Bob, I didn't think about that part.

JT

Think of it as Ron's Links.
I have a brand spanking new 2014 (sorry, I just love to say that.....) and I'm thinking of replacing the links as preventive maintenance because of their bad history.
I would surely do the same with this fershlugginah window arm.
