• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    A question for spyder riders

Me too . . . . . . . . but nothing negative. My take is that it looks like a machine and not a refugee from a Pixar Cars movie. As for negative comments, well a lot of people have a diminished capacity for basic social manners and feel they have to share their opinions in the most provocative...

    Price for your new ride

    Sounds like . . . . . . . a good deal to me. Tom

    FBI info

I think . . . . . . . . that would make my total Listings over 200. Heck, since they already have my Permanent Record from Kindergarten on, I am just glad they are not sending me the warehouse storage bill. My section kinda looks like the last scene of Raiders of the Lost Ark. Tom

    The Wave

    Obviously . . . . . . . . Sweets is not a BMW rider. Cool dog! Tom

    Question

Congratulations! ! ! . . . . . that should be some ride! With my experience (1.5k) on a F3 and Spyders in general, I would have no concerns doing what you are planning. Are you doing it in 3 days? Maybe you remember us meeting a few years ago. At the time I thought you and the RT were a...

Finally did it, went with an F3-S!

Yeah. . . . . . . . . I do too. :p I always find It interesting how people end up on Spyders, so thanks for the background. You are starting out on one of the best Spyders ever made, consider yourself spoiled! You have a lot of enjoyment ahead of you. Congratulations! Tom

    Checking oil level

Good to know . . . . . . . . from what I've heard, a quart at 2k would put me in 'vigilant' mode. None of my Spyders has ever lost that much, but I would not be alarmed. Given that I do at least 50% of my miles like you describe, I may need to adjust my expectations. Thanks is for the...

    Checking oil level

On a "new " motor . . . . . . . . . I check it every 300 miles, just to make sure everything is OK. I am thinking that any loss before the 3k inspection would indicate a problem. Given the reputation of the 1330, after the 3k inspection, I will check it whenever I am doing my 'monthly' full...

    BajaRon

Me too! It was just a joke. I am a BajaRon customer and have been kidding Ron for years. As I said, Ron is "the best" and has been for many years here. Tom

    BajaRon

I hope your suspension . . . . . . . . is over soon. Given all the trouble Ron is capable of getting into, he must be an expert at navigating suspensions, community service and being black-balled and in the dog house. You could not find a better source of help and experience. Tom

    Gps

You may consider. .. . . . . . . . . something like this - especially if you want a GPS in your line-of-sight. http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/showthread.php?78139-F3-Left-Panel-USB&p=944478&viewfull=1#post944478 I think Spydr3 did a great job on this. It would put the GPS right where it...

sold the GS, bought the F3

The next 40k miles . . . . . . . . . should happen faster on the F3. By the way, that wasn't the wind beating your chest - that is your heart on a F3. Congratulations, Tom

    F3S First 8 Days 1000 miles - Review update

    So . . . . . . . . what do you think of the SE6 compared to the SM5's in your past? Tom

    i need a windshield

Visual is important to me too. They do have tinted shields, but really, the hardware is black and seems to be invisible to me. Tom

    Pushing F3-S SE6

Yup, agreed That is right. I have to back into my parking spot. When I stop, one up-shift puts you into First - not Neutral like on my GS or ST. I always try an leave it in N, but sometimes, old habits die hard, and I forget to also downshift to N. Of course, I am then mystified why it won't...

    Blue ridge windshield

It would probably be . . . . . . . . . the wrong thousand words. You would also need to see pictures of it in a wind-tunnel, with the shield at several different heights, angles and extensions to 'see' what you are looking for. And they have a selection of shield heights and widths. Oh yeah...

    Pushing F3-S SE6

One other difference . . . . . . . . . . . on the F3 SE6 - you have to have the brake pedal depressed in order to shift out of Reverse or Neutral. Tom

Why isnt' the Spyder more popular!

I always find it interesting . . . . . . . . to hear what 'regular' people think of the Spyder, and other motorcycle riders too. It is different and certainly does not fit most peoples assumptions about motorcycles as presented by movies, books or TV programs. Like PrairieSpyder, I thought the...
