• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Well, I never thought it would happen but I sold my 2008 GS SE5 on March 13th, and bought the F3 SE6 on March 17th. My avatar is a bad picture but the only one I have of the F3 right now. Many accessories on order and a couple fun things to dress her up a bit. Next pictures will be from camera, not iPhone. Been too busy riding to take pictures. I love this thing. I am going to have to break down and buy a windshield though. In the morning, the cold pounding the chest can be brutal. Man this thing is fun!

Congratulations..!!

looks very nice. Glad you are matching up so nicely..enjoy and hope the mods get in soon....weather is getting nice...:2thumbs::ohyea::ohyea:

The next 40k miles . . . . .

. . . . should happen faster on the F3.

By the way, that wasn't the wind beating your chest - that is your heart on a F3.

Congratulations,

Tom

Hey den1953....You said you were going to take the F3 out on a demo ride....but I don't remember seeing your ride report!! Aside from a lack of a screen, how did you like it?

I'm sitting here eating the carpet waiting for mine to arrive and of course I haven't had the opportunity to even sit on one!

Two things made me jump on the F3 band wagon: 1. Lamont recommends it.....and although he does have a vested interest I trust his judgement implicitly.
And 2. My dealer actually went to the big dealer pow-wow where he met both Lamont and Len and he loves it.....and I also trust him. So I ordered one sight unseen!

You won't regret it -- I was in the same boat, had never seen nor sat on one until I got mine. I LOVE it! Sorry for your long wait, but it will be SO worth it nojoke

My Demo Ride

On Monday, March 16th I got to demo ride the F3. In this case it was an F3-S SM6 in the Magnesium/Black two tone paint with Orange frame. The engine felt stronger mostly due to the reduced weight and the handling was superior to the 2014 RT I demoed last year. The lower center of gravity and the foot forward riding position kept me locked in position and felt more stable in corners. I didn't notice the lateral forces as much. The manual shift was familiar to me from riding motorcycles for 45 years. The hydraulic clutch had reasonable pull and decent lever travel to engage. The transmission shifted as smoothly as silk with no noise or clunkiness. The seat was very comfortable and the suspension, especially the rear soaked up bumps in bad pavement as well as three railroad crossings. I deliberately took some rough roads and those crossings to see how it rode over them. I would say exceptional in that regard yet the chassis retained it's composure with no wallowing or pitching. The only two things I found lacking was (1) a windshield as the wind blast on my upper torso, head and neck was strong at highway speeds of 60 mph and above. (2) The bike was in it's factory #3 U-fit foot peg position and my 32 inch inseam long legs were quite cramped, so much so that shifting and braking were a bit awkward. Other than those two knit-picks it was in every other way a superior performing Spyder to what the RT was a year ago with the exception of luggage space. Worth it in the making of a sportier ride in my humble opinion.
