• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

MRA X-Creen

Does anyone know if this product is "generic" in the sense that it will fit any windscreen? Or, do they make one specially sized for each m/c brand. The videos I've watched seem to show the same X-Creen on different bikes. Is this correct?

If so, I'm thinking of trying it on the Blue Ridge. Any thoughts or advice?

Thanks!

I was trying to type: the screen you are talking about

Windshield Extenders

That's one, another is Laminar Lip. Both extend the height above the stock windscreen. Another intriguing option is to fabricate those riser straps out of 1/8" thick steel strap and raise the rear of the Blue Ridge at the bottom 3 to 4 inches. If someone was tall enough maybe both methods could be used together.

Please update us....

Please let us know how it goes...where you ordered it...etc.
I was hoping to get the "tour" version, but if that is too big, I would try the "sport."

Waiting for your feedback.....and thanks!

I also wanted the tour but was afraid it was too wide. I will let you know as soon as I get it and put it on I have high hopes for Knocking the blast of wind that's hitting me directly in the face. I will let you know

The useful thing about the X-Creen is that you can buy it in a version that clamps to your original screen
but that kit also has the fittings so that you can drill your screen and make it a permanent fixture.

There appears to be a 'sports' size and a 'touring' size too. Here's another link that I found to the
new MRA website: http://mra.de/en/x-creen/

I have had three of their screens and I have to say that they are extremely well made and conform
to the tough TuV German standards.

I emailed this question to Twisted Throttle:

Interested in the MRA X-Creen.
I have a new 2015 Can-Am Spyder F3 with the BRP
"Blue Ridge" windshield.
Is the MRA X-Creen "generic" in that it can be fitted to any windshield, like my Blue Ridge?

Response: "As long as your windshield is at least 10" wide, the X-creen will work with it."

I then asked if that applied to both the "sport" and "tour" versions.

Response: "Yes it does. The mounting hardware for both the sport and the tour is 10" apart."

So, I believe I'll order the touring, clamp-on version, hold my breath  and give it a try.

BTW, the installation videos by Twisted Throttle are truly outstanding.

the Blue Ridge windshield is approximately 11"inches across. From looking at the web-site, the "sport" is the only one that will fit. It is 10" wide, the others are 15 to 16" wide. I just put the Sport on today. It makes a huge difference. Instructions are sketchy. Good luck with your decision
