• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Phanton black limited edition Spyder

I paid $15,400 for my :spyder2: new in July. That would give me $4k to work with. I was offered the Phantom Black panel kit for $800, which is easy to install yourself. The only thing I wouldn't be putting on myself would be the wheels.

    Givi V35 Rack

While I really like my Givi backs I'm glad I went a little extra and bought the I7 rack. I'm not a big fan of how Givi setup the turn signal relocation, I'm actually surprised they did it that way since so many of their racks relocate the turn signal similar to I7's. Overall I only spent about...

    Phanton black limited edition Spyder

I'm willing to bet I could turn my Spyder into a Phantom Black one for less than $19,500.

    Disabled Vet another wheelchair rider

While my Spyder has had its kinks, none of them have left me stranded on the side of the road in the 9k miles I've put on it. Granted I do ride the SM5 and not the SE5, but if you've got a good dealer and they upgrade before mentioned spring and sensor then you should be fine. Thank you for...

My Hindle is here, possibly blown gasket at the joint.. Is there alternative gasket?

If it's a blown gasket then it's probably the gasket where the pipes join on the right side. You should almost certainly feel the panels getting hotter on your thighs. I could slide my hand up under the panels near where the pipes join and feel the exhaust blowing out. I didn't feel like taking...

    low cost rain suit

Nope no special model. While I picked mine up at bikeweek a couple years ago I've seen the same ones at BassPro shops. You'll also find them at most dealers.

    low cost rain suit

I use Frogg Toggs and they're my preferred rainsuit. Perfect for the Florida weather as a vinyl suit just gets too hot. I've ridden in heavy rains with them and they do a very good job of keeping the water out. You're not going to have any problem with them melting on the spyder either, you'd...

    My wheels pulled at 43mph?

Also consider that the track of the Spyder can be sensitive to the texture of the road itself. I have a stretch of road that I ride every day and if I stay closer to the right side of the lane in a certain portion the Spyder tracks to the right everyday. It's an almost undistinguishable dip in...

    Bypassed Spyders...have any links?

That's one I've never heard. The VSS sensors also control your DPS, so if your sensor aren't reading wheel speed than your steering will always be responsive like it is a low speeds. Very easy to lose control at that speed. I discussed the VSS at length will the service manager at my dealership...

    Advice for son's bike

Florida actually just made that a law in July of last year. I have a friend who had been riding on permits for a couple years because he would never take the time to go do the license test. He finally got it done just a couple weeks before the law went on the books. In the state of Florida now...

    Bypassed Spyders...have any links?

Well against Magic Man's advise I did pulled all the sensors and take her for a test ride. NOT ADVISABLE, I now listen to everything Magic Man says. Not sure you can pull the whole system as I believe it's tied into the whole wiring system.

    Windshield decision

For me when I bought an aftermarket windshield, looks had a lot to do with my decision. I went with the BRP Sport touring and I'm happy with it and have had no buffetting issues. But while I don't have buffetting issues it doesn't increase the wind protection that much. It does take some of the...

    Advice for son's bike

The MSF course is a must for new riders. While I find riding the Spyder just as much fun as riding a 2 wheeler I really don't feel like it's a good "starter" bike. In my opinion because the Spyder is safer than switching to a 2 wheeler without any experience could lead some problems if and...

    Strike 3

Funny, my wife and I were just discussing that this morning on our way to pick up my Spyder. We stopped for breakfast at a Cracker Barrel and when we came out there was a nice BMW parked next to the van. She commented on how nice it looked and we discussed riding them. I'll be seeing about...
