There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Strike 3

The lack of support from BRP on this and many other Spyder issues is rather amazing considering the state of the North American economy... If I were reading about all these issues a year ago I would have suggested to Smylinacha that maybe waiting a while would be a better course.....

More often lately I've been questioning my purchase... I've seriously considered getting rid of the Spyder, but the trade in on these things is ridiculous and I'd don't really feel like selling it outright is anything that will happen quickly.

How do you like your Road Glide HDX?

Greatest bike HD has ever made! With the frame mounted fairing it handles like a dream.....

I've been looking at them a little closer lately. My V-Strom is the frame mounted fairing and it has been my favorite and most comfortable ride. I figure the Road Glide would have to trump it.

Many dealers have rentals- try one for a day and put a few hundred miles on it- you'll know if it's for you or not:doorag:
Just to hold up the other end of the argument...and create some controversy, test ride a Beemer, too. :D The other high mileage champ.

Funny, my wife and I were just discussing that this morning on our way to pick up my Spyder. We stopped for breakfast at a Cracker Barrel and when we came out there was a nice BMW parked next to the van. She commented on how nice it looked and we discussed riding them. I'll be seeing about getting a demo during bikeweek.

Well they think they have a lead, but need BRP to respond. They believe it's the electronic key system...waiting for BRP to pic up the phone or return messages to verify. Looks like it's down for 2 weeks.

This one just gets stranger and stranger. Hope they are on to something this time. Your dealer should get points for continuing to pursue it, at least. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you this time. Sorry about the loss of your ride again, though.

New BRP ad campaign:
Our machine is so technically advanced...even we don't know what it's doing!

I don't know want your bike been doing but mine would just die ( I mean just quit in the middle of a ride). I'd let it sit for a min. or two and then it would fire back up. This seemed to happen every couple hundred mi. or so. After mos. of fighting with my dealer they finally call BRP and within a hr had a new key switch assembly in the mail. I have not had a problem since. Hope this helps.

I'm really starting to have second thoughts about getting a Spyder next summer.

Really doesn't seem like they're ready for prime time & BRP doesn't seem to be on top of anything that goes wrong.

Granted, you only hear about the issues online, but uncommanded left turns and electrical issues in a vehicle that's been out this long isn't confidence inspiring to say the least.

Not sure what to think. :dontknow:

The more I think about it, the less I want it. I really wonder if the NTSB is looking at this machine? That uncommanded swerving scares me...it reminds me of that "I Robot" movie when the robots would declare "you have been in an accident" and throw you out of your car. What problems will I have next? I mean if it were an aircraft, like when the 737 had uncommanded rudder inputs, the FAA grounded all 737 models until they found the problem. I don't think this machine is ready for the road, I think their QC stinks.

Today...BRP shot down "Ride Now" and said they are on the wrong track. I guess we are back at square 1. They downloaded all the computer info and emailed it to BRP for examination, they never called me back with any findings, but BRP feels it is the VCM again.

I'd still lobby for a complete new wiring harness as well as the VCM.

I really do have to admit...the Spyder really bites:spyder2:. Testing and down loads to BRP have revealed nothing and now it's all back together. They have cleared the faults and want to ride it a few days(which I find very irritating). So while my Spyder is being used as a go-for machine at the whim of who ever, I have to hope I don't become a victim some one else's folly later on. Once again down for a week, now I get to find all the little things the mechanic partially re-assembled again. More ban-up marks from constant disassembly and no fixes and no parts changes:banghead:.

is there no way you can ride it for a week and then report back to the dealer with feedback since they don't even know what the heck is going on:banghead:

That's just what happened already. Had it in for 6K check...about 1 week later got the limp mode. They cleared it, rode it for a day and returned it to me. That lasted about a week, went into limp mode as I was leaving for work.
