• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Lincoln, Nebraska Spyder ryders met at Culver's

Thanks for posting the pictures! It was a little strange to see more than one Spyder in one place, but fun! Hopefully we'll start seeing more :spyder:s around the area! Maybe someday they'll call it "Spyder Night" instead of car night.

What is the Coolest thing you like about your Spyder?

The coolest thing I like about my Spyder is how fast I can go.

Where did you find out about the Spyder?

Hubby brought one out to the house on a test drive and said "you've got to ride this thing", so I did. A week or so later he bought it, brought it home, and we rode it 2-up to a couple of Fourth of July parties. I said "you know, it would make more sense if I rode this by myself." So we went...

If omly BRP would pay me to advertise

Whenever I buy a helmet or jacket or something, I always remind my dealer how many times I mention their name every time I take the Spyder out... I, too, feel like an unpaid spokesperson.

    Anyone done a track day?

I found out about this one through hubby's Ducati buddies (another reason why I'll be at the end of the line). Arranged by trackaddix.com, but I'm sure there's similar groups in other parts of the country. I can hardly wait. I'm practicing on all the interstate on and off ramps.:firstplace:

    Anyone done a track day?

I'm signing up for a "try the track" with my Spyder, but I'm a little nervous. Has anyone else done this? I know I'll want to be at the end of the line, but anything else I should watch out for?

That's good, because I'm pretty good at doing the dumbest things :opps:.

ATGATT : two wheels vs three wheels?

Hmmm - just knowing how I usually do things... say I've got one of these jackets on, hooked to my Spyder, and I stop somewhere and get off, but forget to unhook it, aren't I going to set if off? Or would I have to jump off and run away real fast?

    Friday night in Lincoln

I think that they do have it every Friday night. We use it as an excuse to eat ice cream! We didn't make it last Friday 'cuz it looked like rain, but the Friday before, it was huge!

ATGATT : two wheels vs three wheels?

Contrary to my picture (which was taken in front of the house on a 110 degree day), I do wear MOTGMOTT. If I didn't wear long pants and boots, my leg would be medium well done by now, and having swallowed a grasshopper once, I always wear a full-face helmet. The truth is, I don't mind shopping...

How do you clean your Spyder?

Mine hasn't gotten extremely dirty yet - just dusty, so I use an auto duster (like a big swiffer) and then windex and a microfiber towel for the bugs.

    Friday night in Lincoln

Just gonna throw this out there - hubby and I often end up at Culver's car night on Friday evenings on N 27th St. In case any other :spyder: ryders are in the area, stop by and say hi.

New trailer - Gatlinburg here we come!

We're old and spoiled, plus we've been back and forth across Iowa, Illinois and Indiana too many times (he's from Ohio). So it just seemed more appealing to power down there with the trailer and save our energy for the riding when we get there. Plus it doubles as a "camper" sort of.

New trailer - Gatlinburg here we come!

I just mentioned to hubby that if we could get the Spyder and his Ducati to Gatlinburg in September, it would be some great riding. Next thing I know there's a trailer in the driveway. :2thumbs:

'Junk in the Trunk' - what do Spyder Ryders carry there all the time? (more)

A hairbrush and three pairs of gloves. Hubby's Harley already has the tools and all that other stuff.

    Smart fortwo

I think crash-testing Smart cars is a little like crash-testing motorcycles. :yikes: What's the point - you know it's not going to be good. Hopefully the people buying them realize that.
