There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. ATGATT : two wheels vs three wheels?

If you were strictly ATGATT on two wheels, have you relaxed your standards when on the Spyder?

I have had a 30 minute test ride and loved it. Felt less vulnerable compared to riding the Wee Strom and wondered if this feeling was experienced by owners and influenced their choice of riding gear.

No matter what you ride, the ground is just as hard... :ohyea:

In general, I subscribe to ATGATT (All The Gear All The Time) whether I am riding the Spyder or a bike. I will admit to a few lapses on the Spyder, however, and I felt very safe and comfortable without my riding pants. I don't ride without a jacket, gloves, boots, and helmet...ever! Far less liklihood of asphalt rash on this machine. You could still get thrown off in a crash, though.

I've got to admit I've gotten way too comfortable on the :spyder:. I wear ATGAAT mostly to stay warm in colder weather. Now that it's warmer out, I'm moving back to my beanie helmet. I've always worn jeans in nice weather but I just picked up a pair of Spyder technical pants which are way more comfortable. No armor or anything but they stretch and breath. That's for warm weather riding. And I'll be wearing my new Spyder light weight technical jacket :). I always wear boots with ankle support but just picked up a really cool pair of Converse hightops with rhinestones on them. Always wear gloves.

Since the Spyder is much easier to just "jump on and go" compared to my Ultra Classic, I usually just throw on a helmet, gloves and shades and am good to go with whatever else I'm wearing. Most days the car never leaves the garage.

My gear is more determined by the weather than anything else. I always wear a helmet (1/2 or 3/4 - my head looks best covered :doorag:) and usually gloves, jeans and tennis shoes. Jackets and boots change as the weather changes.

Now with the Spyder I SATGITTATT (stow all the gear in the trunk all the time) for passenger and myself, so I can ride with ATGMOTT, but can do a quick change.

Helmet, always. Gloves and riding jacket, most of the time. Riding pants, cold or rainy riding. Long pants and shoes, always. I guess that puts me in a SOTGATT (some of the gear all the time) or a MOTGMOTT (most of the gear most of the time).

Not Me

It has made no difference to me what-so-ever! I ride exactly the same..... Except maybe a grin on my face more of the time. Jerry

Contrary to my picture (which was taken in front of the house on a 110 degree day), I do wear MOTGMOTT. If I didn't wear long pants and boots, my leg would be medium well done by now, and having swallowed a grasshopper once, I always wear a full-face helmet.
The truth is, I don't mind shopping for a new jacket, gloves, etc for every riding situation ;).

If I am riding around town running errands or getting fuel I wear full face helmet (shield up or down depending on temp but always with safety glasses), gloves, jacket, jeans and full height boots. If I am going to be riding any great distance or any great speed (i.e. highways) I ALSO wear Joe Rocket pants.

I guess I would classify myself as MOTGATT. Helmet, gloves. long sleeves and long pants - mil spec safety vest, ear protection, but I wear reeboks to ryde. Haven't found a boot that I really like yet. Most of all I always have my :spyder2: smile on!!!!

Add me to the "since buying the Spyder" list. I do feel safer for quick simple rydes. Enough not to worry about being under dressed anyways.:lecturef_smilie: Shame on me!

:2thumbs: I guess I would classify myself as MOTGATT. Helmet, gloves. long sleeves and long pants jacket never ride with out gear on ground well eat you up if you fall off my:spyder:and I go every whare today 700miles going on the :spyder: test ride on the 09 's april 30 to may 2ndcan't whate .....

Ummmm, I'm already talking about riding like in your pic tomorrow - it was freakin HOT today!

Well I wore the Can Am Technical pants today - never again when it's above 70. Those things DO NOT BREATHE - I must have lost a few pounds sweating in them today. I love the fit and they are comfortable, just not for hot weather. Back to jeans tomorrow. Didn't need the technical jacket - I was hot in a long sleeved Can Am shirt. Got cooler at night and the technical jacket worked fine for that.

Thanks for the feedback; pretty well what I expected.

Here in Central Queensland- Australia, its quite warm eight months of the year and on two wheels I can't bring myself to lighten up on riding gear : airbag jacket, draggin jeans, steel cap boots, gloves, full face helmet.
All this can be very uncomfortable when temps are around 37C (100F) and humid.

One of the many attractions of the Spyder for me is my perception that I would be more visible and less vulnerable compared to two wheels and for shorter trips could maybe just jump on and go.

We live in the bush and wallabies (small kangaroos) are ever present and jump in front of you with no warning.

I have been down once this way and cracked a rib.

If the same scenario played out on the Spyder, I believe the outcome would have been more in my favour.
