• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

'Junk in the Trunk' - what do Spyder Ryders carry there all the time? (more)

Just the other day I got
1 gallon milk
2 pks hamburger patties
3 pkgs ham rolls
1 pkg hot dog rolls
1 conatiner of country time lemonade
I may not have been able to fix it had she broke but was ready for picnic along side road in case i was there for a long wait

I carry a small compressor and an assortment of sticky rope (string) plugs along with their installation tool. I haven't had the need (yet) on the Spyder but did on the ST1300 and a couple of other riders' bikes.

In addition, a small first aid kit, a small fire extinguisher, miscellaneous tools, rain suit, six foot of plastic tubing for siphoning gas from one bike to another, a 20-foot tow strap... that's about it, I think. :D

This is a interesting threat.. As for a FLAT tire though, what is the quick fix for this on the spyder? This is one of my main concerns always , a flat tire!! Has anyone experienced this before? Tire repair kit--fix a flat--are there tubes in the tires---tubeless---small 12 V compressor maybe.. You guys and gals got me thinking about stuffing my truck with some of these goodies now cause I do not carry most of the items but will put together a kit for sure of odds and ends, all really good idea's for sure.

What kind of compressor do you have? i have a small compressor that i picked up hoping to use for the spyder but the fuse in the 12v blows as soon as i turn it on and was worried about upping the fuse any.

Slime...it is one of the smallest out there. It does take more than 5 amps, which is the standard fuse for the standard cigarette lighter. But, I hook it up to my battery charging lead under the seat... 20 amp fuse on that circuit.

Ahhh ok that makes sense. The spyder only has a 3amp fuse for the 12v and i need to check my car to see what it uses because it has no problems with the compressor i have. Thanks for the info i might be checking into that compressor.

Trunk? We have a trunk? I thought that was the engine under the hood so I never opened it!!! :roflblack::roflblack:

Actually, I keep raingear my tool set and a Multitool, bungee cords, owners manual and insurance and registration papers all the time. Pack for work computer and lunch. Groceries after church, now they will go in the trailer though.

No repair kit is complete w/o Duck (Duct) tape... even comes in colors to match your bike.. spare quart of oil on those long trips could come in handy as well.

Don - you're absolutely right... normally I carry a roll... got a trip coming up... going to put it in right now. And, you're right on the oil... for trips. One quart of Amsoil is already there for this weekend.

Great! I have my quart of oil as well. Looking forward to meeting you in Humble... (wonder how many know how "Humble" is pronounced).

Loved the "duck taped" too..

Staying overnight Saturday in Cleveland...
