There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. What did you do to your Spyder today?

Trying again.

I installed the underglow and welded a 1 1/4 inch receiver tube under my trailer hitch a few days ago. The underglow is RGB color changing and they all turn red when I hit the brakes. Whatever you do, don’t zoom in on the receiver cover.

Temps got up into the mid 70's today. I had a back procedure 2 weeks ago, so this is the first ride in a while. Living in the Prescott, AZ area, we have many great roads. Today, wife and I took off from Chino Valley (10 miles north of Prescott), and took the outer loop over to Williamson Valley Road and headed North. This road is a nice 50 mph road with a lot of sweeping turns and hills. About 10 miles out, we got off the main road and headed into the ranch land area. Slow speeds (max 35mph posted). This road goes about another ten miles through some nice scenery.

On the way in, we saw a small herd of pronghorns, on the way back out, we saw a doe and two fawns. While it is common to see pronghorn around here, it is a treat to see the young ones. Pronghorns are the fastest land animal in North America, reaching speeds of close to 60 mph. What is really interesting, is that the fawns can run almost that fast by the time they are a few weeks old. We headed into Prescott, stopped at one of our favorite sports bars, and had some wings before heading home. All in all a great ride, probably only 50-60 miles (I didn't look) but it got the juices flowing again. Time to start riding more so that I am in shape to do a multiday/week trip before long.

Figured I'd just dump this all here... I have finally completed all the modifications to my 2011 Spyder RT SE5 and figured I'd list the improvements from best to worst for others who may still be tinkering with their 998 models.

1. First and Foremost, IF YOU HAVE A 998... Hunt down, steal, fight for part number 219800388! It is the Side Vent kit that Can Am released in 2013 to cure the overheating issues for the 998 models. My bike was incredibly hot in the summer rides because it lacked air circulation in and around the engine compartment. Yes, it requires sawing into your bike and some entry level to moderate mechanical knowhow but DO IT. Now my temperature gauge never goes above 1/4, I have no heat in my crotch, no boiling gas in the tank... the bike is happiest when she can breath!

2. Spyderpops upper and lower radiator vent dams. Yes, BOTH. Remove the floor panels under the radiator and oil pan to increase air circulation. This mod paired with the above vent kit keeps you bike happy and more importantly your right foot cool and comfortable.

3. Ultimate Seat. Get one with the gas cap door! This arguably is the best overall upgrade but because overheating is more concerning it fell to #3. I can ride all day with ZERO pain and my wife stays on the bike whenever I pop in for gas because of the gas cap access thru the seat. Oh and get the back rest for yourself! duh.

4. F4 custom windshield 2 inches taller and 4 inches wider than the stock windshield and it MUST have the center vent. Don't like wind beating you up on the highway? This sucker cures it. The center vent also produces a perfect air stream into your body or face (pending how you angle the vents while riding) and on warm days it's like controlling the AC vents in your car. It aint cheap but it's money WELL SPENT.

5. Rider Floor boards from spyderaccessories. WHY did I take so long to pull the trigger on these?! Sheesh. I can move my feet and reposition them whenever I want. It's a god send on longer rides vs. the stock peg that came with my bike.

6. Baja Ron's Air Intake System. If you work on your bike this is almost 'a must' because of how much more access into the engine compartment you will get! It also makes the bike sound better IMO. This should only be undertaken if you have moderate to good mechanical skills. Otherwise, leave it alone. For those who tinker - it's a god send!

7. Magic Mirrors from Lamonster Garage. Magnets > stock pins! If you tinker... you want these!

8. Cell phone holder - center of the steering pillar. You can run your gps, music, etc. front and center.
8(a) - coolstream bluetooth connection to the rear audio port in the trunk. So I can stream my music from my phone (or l wife's phone) and thru the speaker. Everyone needs to be able to jam.

9. USB charging port from spyder accessories. Charge your phone and your passengers while riding. Duh.

10. Cup holder(s). Front and rear. I like a cold water on a hot day... and my wife LOVES cold water on a hot day.

11. 2 ohm speakers all around. Even though the manufacture of the head unit claims the speakers should be 4 ohm I followed another members posts and swapped out the stock for kicker 2 ohms. Both myself and wifey can hear music clear as a whistle at any speeds.

12. BajaRons upgrade sway bar and links. Folks - I hate to say it... I could put this lower on the list...

13. Trunk Brake light and short antenna. Looks better. Can be seen better.

14. Tool kit from Lamonster Garage. It's an excellent start to the parts you'll want on the bike. I've added some additional pieces but the core tools are there.

15. Canister-ectomy. Look it up. PS - I ran my evaporator line to the front of the bike and kept it elevated.

16. Replace your Vacuum lines from the throttle body to the VAC sensor. There are two hoses. Cut them the EXACT same length as stock. Do this every couple years.

17. Rear arm rests. Wife is happy so I'm happy.

18. Frunk and Side Storage luggage liners. Makes our trips easier. Watching my wife open the frunk, grab her bag, and shuffle inside like she is taking in the groceries is great!

19. Floating Highway Pegs. If you get the floorboards above... then don't get these. Matter of fact I may put mine on market now.

20. Remove the center console's insulation piece. If you do the air scoop from item 1 then you don't need this piece anymore. You get more storage for larger items in your pockets.

21. Center console protector. Mine was scratched to death from use and this both covers the scratches and gives future scratch protection.

22. Replace the rear trunk shock and the seat shock once they get lazy. I used to just 'live' with the seat not staying up, as well as the trunk, but you'd be surprised how nice it is for them to function as designed. :P

23. Battery tender.

The bike is getting her new shoes today. Just in time for June 1's big 2000+ mile trip into the N.E. If anyone has questions or needs pics etc. I'm happy to assist. Stay safe friends!

Wow, you are busy! Tell me, was the LaMonster sway bar easy to put on after getting old bar off? and do you like it? Which hole did you use for stiffness of ride initially, and do you like it? I am seriously thinking about getting this sway bar. Thanks.

Well, my Spyder is new so here's my list of recent additions:

1) I tried a 22" Freedom Shield from Lamonster... Too wide and not enough ventilation holes. A Freedom Shield was a game changer on my Harley, not so much on the Spyder.
I cut down my stock W/S 4". Just right for my 5' 8.5" x 30" inseam body. I run it fully up on the highway - the top edge is perfectly in line with my nose - and down around town.
I'm going to experiment with the Freedom Shield. I'll cut down the sides to mimic the shape of the stock shield and open up some ventilation with a hole saw. The problem I found with it is the width causes buffeting around the sides and the ventilation holes they have opened don't flow enough air to keep the back draft from pushing me forward. This lack of ventilation may have been one of the causes for the side buffeting I experienced as well.

2) Kott Radiator Screens
3) Full size brake pedal - I'm really impressed with the difference this makes!
4) Handlebar cuff for Ram mounts.
5) Show Chrome backrest - nice!

I've got a trailer hitch and sway bar still awaiting install!

It was super easy to installed, I like the fact that the rod end actually fit into the space so no washer is required like the Baja one.

I started on the soft setting, we ride 95% 2 up and it was a great improvement on the soft setup, but Lamonster does mention to use the harder setup for 2 up. I just wanted to try that, after about 1000 Km’s I switched it to the harder setup. Again, super easy to do, and now we really don’t need to slow down at all to takes turns! Super nice well worth the money.

Well I got a trip planned at the end of the month and I needed to flush the brake fluid in my 2017 F3L. So today I installed speed bleeders of my F3. My gosh, that makes the process so much easier. What was a two man job turned into a one man job. So glad I installed them. Then I replaced the LED's on my bump skid, as I had several sections that were not lighting up any more. LED's look so much better now. While I had the wheels off to do the brake flush, I cleaned pretty the wheels also and added a little air in them. Then I moved to the rear of the bike and put a zip tie around the little micro switch that tells you if your trunk lid is closed or not. That micro moves around a lot in it slot and has always given me trouble since day one. I got to give it a bath but that will be done another day.

I received and mounted the Can Am side cases for my Canyon STD (thanks iMotorsports). My previous experiment with the generic SHAD side cases from Amazon resulted in failure and return when I discovered that the Can Am branded SHAD cases had proprietary mounting hardware. They were close, but no cigar. I still need to install the lock tumblers, but that can wait until I get back from today's trip.

I added some rear lighting to be more visible to people!!
I also added some front lighting as well. It’s good to be seen!

I guess my photo files were too large to post… sorry

Finished installing my Lamonster bar riser and GPS mount set-up, to which I attached a Pedal Commander from Slingmods. I also installed wide convex mirror add-ons from Slingmods.

I only had time for a very short shakedown run before darkness fell. But my initial impressions are positive. 😛

Got a set of Front EBC Rotors and Ceramic pads to install tomorrow…

Trying to fix the front end vibration on my 2024 S2S. So far, I've got the front wheels rebalanced and aligned, so I'm hoping this will fix it. I also have a new set of front tires ordered. Something has got to give. :)
