• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Excessive Heat has been a problem

if

if someone could come up with a device that would exhaust the hot air from the engine compartment out to the back of the bike at slow speeds and they market it, i feel they could make a lot of money from the heat issue. i have been trying not to comment on the problem BUT i am surprised BRP has not thought of this yet for a fix

From the Heat problem Archives

This item View attachment 84969 was invented by my wife and she installed it on her 2010 RT
even before Lamont did his cookie sheet heat control device. She cut a piece off of a garbage can and put it in place to direct heat away from her right foot. I think this was done in the summer of 2010.

It was the first of many devices she put in that Spyder.

Might I suggest that you turn your speakers off

...And the broken record keeps playing / keeps playing / keeps playing...

And, as long as I have to deal with the heat, the record will continue to play. Whether you listen or not, is YOUR choice.

And I guess it's YOUR choice whether to actually do something about it, or just complain. There are plenty of solutions out there that people have offered, if you're waiting for BRP to come out with a fix for the pre-2014 units, you got a long wait. May I suggest a "for sale" sign...

Bottom line is... placing a radiator right next to a foot wasn't the smartest thing someone could do, and they have fixed it with the 2014's - hopefully... Summertime will tell the true tale.

The radiator has nothing to do with the heat that is being discussed. It is under the Tupperware heat that is the issue. We are not stupid we know where the radiators blows out from.

The 13's are a totally different subject. Heat all over the place. Pre '13 it was a hot right foot that was the big complaint.

Got 50K you're anxious to part with? If so, it's all yours. Till then, I'll COMPLAIN as much as I want.

NOT Harley's Kool-Aid; that's for sure! :D
They put their radiators in the fairing lowers: RIGHT in front of the operator's feet... :yikes:
Sound's familiar; don't it?

So, are you saying BRP and HD may contract out to the same design engineers. :roflblack:

I have to wonder...

how many people complaining about heat on the 2013s have ever owned a Harley Tourer and ridden it in August. Talk about heat and fried thighs.

You guys should have learned by now, you're not going to stop me from saying what I have to say.

I have enjoyed my spyder as much as time has allowed and over that time have had many positive things to say about those experiences.

But, when it comes to the heat issues. I'll be equally honest.

If that bothers you. That's your problem. Not mine.

Find someone else to try and intimidate. Because it won't happen with this Ol boy.

That's a fact.

Actually BRP (the Rotax division) and HD have a long intertwined history. Many of the WW2 and Korean War military HD cycles have Rotax engines.
