What did you do to your Spyder today?

It's been raining here, so no ride.
I bought a Battery Tender Jr awhile back to use both with my Spyder and with my John Deere lawn tractor.
I used it on the JD first, only to discover that the battery was bad. So I took the JD battery to a local Batteries Plus shop, where they confirmed it was bad, and sold me a replacement. The battery that was in the JD was the original, and was about 6 years old.

I've been meaning to hook the battery tender up to my Spyder, and that's what I did today.
It took me longer to cut enough out of the oval rubber grommet to run the cable from the battery area into the frunk then to hook up the cable to the battery.
The wall unit flashed red before I connected it to the newly installed cable, then went solid red.
The flashing red indicates it's not connected correctly to a battery, which was true, and the solid red indicates its connected and charging.

It's been a couple of hours and it's still solid red. It will flash green when it gets to an 80% charge on the battery, and solid green when it's 100% charged.

It's supposed to be dry and warm for the next couple of days, so I may go for a ride tomorrow.
Then come back and plug it in again. :spyder:

Edit:
Here's how the cable is routed in the frunk. I know some people use the round plug on the right of this picture, which is the left side of the Spyder.
But I park my Spyder in my garage so the right side of the Spyder is close to the wall where the Battery Tender is plugged in, so it made sense to me go to out the side closest to the plug.

Unfortunately called local dealer and got the ball rolling on getting my '22 F3s license plate light replacement because it simply fell off. 5800mi, garage kept, seriously babied, and it just fell off. The lens is what is really gone but you gotta buy the whole shabang to the tune of $70 plus the inconvenience. Did I mention 2 weeks out of full warrenty? Of course the dealer is asking BRP for a full warrenty replacement.

Installed the OEM antenna and installed the dual USB port and modified the blank switch cover for it to work. Came out really nice. Also installed the Capuride after installing the USB ports. All works good. I'll take pics of it and post in the next couple of days.

Yesterday I installed the Show Chrome Formfusion LED Trunk Lights... These are really nice set of lights and bright also. They really look factory and compliment the other factory lighting. Easy to install also

We went out for a ride through Wood Chopper's Town and two covered bridges on our way to eat at Buddy's Log Cabin Restaurant in Pine Grove, PA. On the way home we made a loop down through the towns of Lickdale, Ono, Lebanon, Womelsdorf and Sinking Spring. Outside of Robesonia there was an accident. About 15 Harleys were on the side of the road. I feared the worst. Fortunately no bikes were involved in the accident. Two cars were involved, one pulled out in front of the other. The debris block 3 of the 4 lanes. The guys in black vests and chaps were directing traffic. The motorcycle club had stopped to help until the police and ambulance showed up. Total miles for the day was 196 miles. We are getting in some longer rides preparing for a long trip to Maine.

We went for a nice ride late yesterday afternoon, kept the speed under 60 mph. The ride was good, weather was very nice, the subtle handlebar waggle was irritating. But that sway bar improvement... Wow!

Weather was awesome again this afternoon, so we went for another ride. On the way home, we got on the highway to see if the vibration had changed any, and it had. It had decreased as I rolled up to 60 mph and remained pretty steady up to 70. I just took the fronts back off, and I'm going to take them to another shop tomorrow and plan to ask them if they use lead weights instead of the stick-on weights.

Well, I was going to take a couple of pictures of what I did over the weekend, but the battery died. I charged it on Sunday, but by then it was too late. I have a battery I have to pick up this afternoon. The battery is 4 years old so it's time for a new one. This time however, I order leads for my battery tender to connect to the battery to make sure I always have a full charge (as others have done).

Funny story (to me anyhow), but on Sunday, the LIPO battery for my golf cart wasn't charged enough and died after 13 holes. I worked on the bike that afternoon and the bike battery died. Then this morning, the battery for my percussion tool (for my back) also ran out of charge. Told the wife, it's a good thing I don't have a battery powered defib and pacemaker.

I'd much prefer the 3's come in the form of money. Like find a penny today, then $10 tomorrow, and the 3rd is winning the lottery so I can retire. :firstplace:

Put 3 new tires on today at BajaRon's.
(2) Front Vredestein Quatrac 165/60/15
Rear is a General Altimax RT45
225/60/15. This is the 1st time they've installed this size tire on a F3S. I'm the guinea pig.
The ride home is an hour, and they rode great. I think 28 psi is too much air in the rear. 18 psi up front.

From what I've read on this forum, 18 psi would probably work better on the rear also. I'm 220 6'1" and I ride solo 100% of the time. I'm also a pretty aggressive rider. Coming around a 15 mph corner today, one that I do every day, I normally hit it at 30 mph+ - today coming home, I tried it at the same speed and the rear end was sliding around. Too much air psi I reckon.

Did my first oil change since I brought my ride home from the dealer. Just a peace of mind so I know how many miles I got left. Then I inspected the air filter, and it was OEM and brand new.
Took a ride over to NY state to get some good fuel (non-ethanol); now I have to clean the bike again because it's covered in pollen.
I also ordered LED fogs and headlights today because I couldn't see on a dark rural road as we were coming home last night.

I find that the heat in this area heats the adhesive and the weights move around or in my case flew off.
When I 1st got my F3S it had a bad vibration in the front. After the dealership changed them out 3 times, they finally got it close. In doing so however they scratched the inside of the wheels pretty bad. They actually scraped through the black powder coat so much so, the you can see the silver of the aluminum wheel . Totally un-sat.
I've got vibration again.
Tuesday I have an appointment to get 3 quadtracs installed and balanced at BajaRon's.

Please let me know your thoughts. I am doing the same thing in a month.

^^^^ well, the ride home was nice. The Spyder rides straight and doesn't follow the cracks and grooves in the road as much . More comfortable ride. I didn't really test it on the curves, just a couple near my house. That's all I got.

Remounted the front tires. The local shops can't balance them and the shop where we bought the bike can't either until their balancer is repaired. Worse case scenario is waiting a couple week until we get to the rally in eastern Ohio where I'll have an alignment done.
Side note, after a couple of email exchanges BajaRon I found that I had not tightened the bushing bolts sufficiently. So I took care of that while the tires were off.

That's surprising. I don't see why any shop can't balance the front tires on a Spyder.
