• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I just hit a deer.

Use deer whistles

They are not expensive and folks in deer areas use them a lot. Does not hurt to have a bit of insurance (even if they do not work the cost is very low).

They don't... :banghead:
All that they do, is transmit at a frequency above our hearing range. Deer hear all sorts of sounds every day. A high-pitched whistle might get their attention, but there's NO GUARANTE, as to how they will react.

For all the they do; you might as well call them, "elephant whistles". After all; have you ever seen an elephant on the road, with your whistles happily doing their thing?

Glad you are okay and only the bike needs some repairs!

I've used dear alerts for decades and know they work. Dark country road in southern Ohio, rounded a curve to see 2 deer standing in the center of the road... staring directly at me! I stopped, then they ran off and and away I went.

Go easy on the deer, they may need a temporary job next month ;)

I have these on the cages...

It was one of my first thoughts after the impact.

Unfortunately

Was the major impact point on the bodywork, or the wheel? If it's the former; the frame will be okay. If the wheel took the shot; have the dealership look the front of the frame over with a fine-toothed comb. nojoke
Glad to hear that you're okay! :2thumbs:
Bikes can always be fixed. People: not quite so much!

I'm fairly certain the wheel took most of it. From how it looks and feels his afternoon my right forearm took some too. Glad I had multiple layers and leather on.

Now if only they send a good adjuster who will know there's probably damage we can't see.

At least an elephant didn't hit me. :)

Comment: Of the two deer/Spyder encounters I have read here, folks stayed on and faired well. That is good! With the two deer I took out with Goldwings, I did the roll and slide down the black top. Now I really love my Spyder. Now you know why I am Deer Slayer, took one out in Pa. and Ca. Maybe I should stay out of states that end in a? Nope, live in North CarolinA! Just the view out my computer screen. Bye Ya'll.

I feel l should thank BRP for the quality off the Spyder. All things considered, I am impressed with the condition of the Spyder and myself.

glad ya'll ok! be best to have the spyder taken to a dealer for a tear down so they can write the preliminary estimate then the adjuster can go from that. I worked auto body heavy collision for a LONG time and these adjusters like to be able to see in behind the apparent damage for secondary damage. I was riding in southwestern greene county pa yesterday and had a big doe about step out in front of me at 50 mph. it was a close one! if you do this make sure you and the dealer have plenty of pics to document things. with the suspension and the frame there has to be measurement specs someplace in the BRP files.

Ouch..!!

Really glad you are alright but sorry to hear your ryde was damaged. Hope its an easy fix and your out there soon. You can always ryde over here where you are more apt to be slapped by a big finned tuna than running across a deer...:roflblack: may you both heal well...
