:spyder:....Well folks this is the month of August. I just can't believe that we used another month. The days seem to fly by and I still have some projects to start. I'm not sure if I am gaining on the projects that I have been working on for weeks. Seems like the older I get the more things fall apart. Like my wife said, "just do what you are able". Then we will have to decide what to do next. .....:banghead:

Currently cloudy sky and 72°F. Going to get some morning rain and then off and on rain this afternoon. This month is going to be very hot and humid here in Indiana. This is what makes the corn and beans grow. Thank the people who made (AC) life easier to enjoy more comfortable.

So Welcome aboard and let's talk about the weather. Please remember that this is a family friendly forum. So try and behave with your Posts. Looking forward to your local area weather news.

Thanks for your time and comments. ....

Thursday 8/01/24

:chat:...Welcome back to a new month.

High today of 85°F with some rain showers this morning.
Low at 69°F. Rain showers are off and on this afternoon. We are looking forward to this rain. It has been a week since our last rain. The yard was turning brown.

Life is Good for me. I hope you are doing Well. Remember to Stay Hydrated and take it easy. ....

Here is SW Georgia it is currently 73, and not quite 7 AM. Should get into the mid 90's with heat index up to 108. At least the rain chance has dropped to about 20% but of course humidity is still high. I'm keeping an eye on the weather along the gulf coast because I really want to ride down next Wed for a couple of days, but the rain chances down there are still around 70-80%. Might go anyway...

We had a short break yesterday from the freezing weather and ongoing drizzle that we've had over the last week or so... Yesterday was fine, no clouds, and warm-ish - if you were in the sun & could get outta the piercingly cold wind!!

Before that, the week's Daytime Temps were pretty much only in the high single digits (°C) but with the ongoing drizzle and the 25 kph+ winds (July was our windiest month in over a year!) that seemed to come straight off the Antarctic Ice-pack, the wind-chill meant it felt a LOT colder; and with the zero or below over-night temps we were copping, we even had some pretty severe frosts despite the wind (no snow here, but over on the East Coast they got snow down to 500 metres elevation!)

Then yesterday was a bewdiful clear day, with temps in the mid-teens for most of the day, so I enjoyed the sunshine while I could, and today started out fine too; but the clouds have started to roll on in at a rapid pace driven by the same bloody cold winds, ahead of the oncoming prolonged period of strong winds and rain that was buffeting Western Australia last week/weekend and is expected to hit us here in South Oz any time now - according to the BoM "...bringing severe thunderstorms, ferocious winds, and heavy rainfall to the region in the coming days!" :sour:

I must be getting soft as my 'increasing decreptitude' creeps up on me, cos I'm even thinking of missing a 'morning ride' or two, at least until all this crappy weather passes... cos given the forecast, I'm not exactly looking forward to them like I usually do!

But NO, it's not cos I'm 'getting old', altho I might be 'growing older' :p After all, 'growing older' IS a condition of 'still living', and THAT, I AM planning on doing for a while yet! :ohyea: Cos while I generally sorta enjoy 'riding in the rain', I'm just not too keen on riding in "severe thunderstorms, ferocious winds, and heavy rainfall", and especially not while the temps are also close to bloody freezing!! There's parts of my anatomy that might freeze off if I ride in that lot!! :yikes:

:coffee:.....Finally Friday and the Indiana humidity is high today. Currently raining and we have 70°F. Yesterday's weather was just terrible, but I was able to find the bright 🌞 side. They say we needed this stuff....rain.

High today of 79°F with some rain showers in the morning and then again in the afternoon.
Low at 64°F. Possibly have some evening showers.

Everything is good for me. Stay Safe and be Healthy. ....

I'm still on a road trip and still in Mt Vernon, WA. (State). Currently it's 80 degrees and heading for a high of 83 today. Humidity is 60% which makes the air feel sticky to me. We don't often get sticky air in the Arizona desert. There is a thin marine cloud cover that is slowly burning off. The breeze is at 2 MPH. There is no rain in the forecast. Heading out to the Olympic Peninsula tomorrow. Stay safe.....Jim

Weekend Weather 8/03 - 8/04

:ohyea:...Well the weekend is finally here. So far August has been crazy wet and hot. But that is the way it goes sometimes. Currently we have clear sky at 67°F.

Today's high is 87°F, with lots of sunshine and humidity.
Low of 66°F and humid.

Have a Safe and Healthy Weekend. ....

The current temp is 80, partly sunny. It is still hot & humid. The feels-like temp is 80 degrees.

After we had a pretty quiet Saturday, we're in for more active weather today (Sunday). A trough will bring scattered showers and thunderstorms, mainly for the afternoon and early evening. Even then, not everyone will get hit, through a few thunderstorms may become strong with gusty winds and heavy downpours. Muggy conditions will continue, with highs in the mid to upper 80's.

The last humid day (for now) will be Monday.  A fairly strong cold front will come through, and that will bring showers and thunderstorms. Some thunderstorms may be strong to severe, especially in the South, depending on the timing of the front. As of now, severe weather isn't expected in the Northern sections due to the front moving through earlier in the day, but they will keep an eye on it. Now it will be cooler but still humid, with highs in the 70's and low 80's.

We will get a break from the humidity starting Tuesday, with dew points dropping into the 50's. As far as showers are concerned, it will depend on how far South the cold front gets before stalling out. It looks like the Northern half of the region will be dry, with Southern areas having a chance for showers. It will be cooler and less humid than in recent days, with highs in the 70's. Lows will be pleasant, in the 50's.

Dry weather is expected for Wednesday and Thursday, but Friday and Saturday could go either direction. They will be keeping an eye on the remnants of what is now Tropical Storm Debby, which is in the Gulf of Mexico. Some showers are possible in the Southern sections both days, but if it tracks farther inland, then a lot of rain isn't out of the question.

They have issued a Special Weather Statement on August 4th, 2024 @ 3:14 PM EST.
Hazard: Wind gusts up to 40MPH and half inch hail.

Impact: Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible.

This includes the following highways: Interstate 87 between Mile Markers 136 and 138, this is in New York. Also, on Vermont Interstate 89 between Mile Markers 90 and 102.

Stay Safe everyone!

High today of 91°F with some clouds. No rain in the forecast for Indiana.
Low at 71°F. The humidity is still terrible.

Have yourself a great day. ....

Tuesday 8/05/24

I have been watching the Olympics and sleeping in early mornings. Today I just plan forgot to post up.

Currently we have clear sky and 90°F. Feels like 99°F.
No rain Today.
High today is 92°F.
Low at 71°F.

Have a Blessed Day. ....

The current temp is 66 degrees and no humidity.

The feels like temp is 65 degrees, humidity is 100 %,

We have been having off/on rain showers. There are no warnings or watches out as of 8/5/2024.

After a long stretch of unpleasant weather, we finally going to get a few days of much needed relief from the heat, humidity, and storms.

Showers and storms will continue to track through the area this evening ahead of a cold front that will finally allow dew points to fall into the 50's overnight. Showers may linger in the far Southern areas of Vermont through early Tuesday morning.

Even though Tuesday will be mainly cloudy, it will still be a much more pleasant day. Dew points will continue to fall into the afternoon, landing in the upper 40's and to low 50's. Highs will be in the 70's.

Tuesday night will be a great night to open up the windows and get some fresh air with lows in the 50's and low humidity. A few showers are possible in the Southern Vermont overnight, but the rest of the area should be dry.

Sunshine returns in full force by Wednesday, which will be the nicest day we have had in a while. Finally we'll have a near perfect summer day with lots of sun, almost no haze, comfortable temps in the 70's, and low humidity.

Wednesday night will be another pleasant night followed by a dry day, comfortable Thursday with dew points in the 50's and highs in the mid 70's to near 80. Clouds start to increase late Thursday as the remnants of Tropical Storm Debby track North and bring concerns of heavy rain or parts of the Northeast leading into the weekend.

It is still too early to know exactly how Debby's remnants will impact us, but they are watching Friday into Saturday closely. Depending on the track, there could be additional flood concerns.

...Sending out Prayers for those folks in 'Debbie's ...the tropical storm' way. Listen carefully to the news and make the necessary decisions early. Remember your safety is important.

Calling for some rain showers later in the afternoon. Currently we have clear sky and 74°F.
We could use the rain.

Today's high is 89°F with some rain showers.
Low at 63°F and a chance of rain showers here tonight.

Everybody stay Safe and enjoy your Day. ....

My road trip has taken me to Sequim, WA. located on the Olympic Peninsula of Washington State. Currently it's 58 degrees. We have a thick marine cloud cover that will burn off a little later. Humidity is currently 85%. Todays high will be 70 and mostly sunny by this afternoon. The wind is calm. This is a far cry and welcome relief from the 115-degree days I left in the desert a couple weeks ago. Stay safe..... Jim

It is currently 69 degrees and cloudy.

It was a lot cooler today which was a nice pace compared to the recent heat, humidity, and storms. The good news is that we have a couple of fantastic summer days ahead of us. The bad news is that we could be dealing with yet another round of heavy rain and flooding Friday through Saturday thanks for the remnants of Tropical Storm Debby (We don't need any more rain here in Vermont!)

Mainly cloudy conditions persist through the evening hours. A batch of rain will pass just South of our area tonight, clipping Southern Vermont. Showers remain likely in Southern areas, meanwhile, the skies begin to clear across Northern Vermont and New York overnight. It will be a cooler, refreshing night with low humidity and lows in the 50's.

Clearing will continue to work its way South through Wednesday morning. Northern areas start the day with plenty of sun and stay mostly sunny through the day. Southern areas will see emerging sunshine with decreasing dew points. Highs will be in the 70's.

Wednesday night will be another good open window night with low humidity and lows in the low to mid 50's. Pleasant weather continues through Thursday. Skies will be mostly sunny to start the day with increasing clouds later. Highs will be in the mid to upper 70's.

Tropical moisture starts to lift Northward Thursday night, bringing the chance for a couple of showers overnight. Heavy rain holds off until Friday. There is still some time for the track to shift, but we are becoming increasingly concerned about the band of heavy rain that could bring yet another round of flooding in the area.

There is the potential for another 2 to 4+ inches of rain through Saturday night, which could cause river and flash flooding. It's too early to talk about rain amounts or impacts for any individual community, but it is time start getting prepared. Use the nice weather over the next couple days to make sure storm drains and culverts on and around your property are free of debris so that water can flow property.

Everyone stay safe!

Mid 70's so far today. Cool, compared to yesterday.

Linda and I got a chance to meet up with the OP of the thread yesterday.

We had a nice lunch and some friendly conversation that made the time go by very quickly.
