• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Youngest Spyder Owner

Get what you want, set it up your way, ryde it the way you want: be careful, they're habit forming.
As far as age, I was old (71) once, decided I didn't like it, so I stopped.

Good for you and don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Spyder is not bias to old, young, male, female, skin colors, ethnicity, religion, status, able , disable, poor, wealthy, two wheel rider any brands. We all have the same hope is to ride and ride and ride and have fun and safe. If I missed I'm sure somebody will fill in.

God Bless us all and God Bless America.

PS I only turn 26 this month so don't worry your age.:yes::yes:when I'm standing on my head:roflblack::joke:

Sorry, but I disagree on this part. Have you seen the price of doing maintenance/repairs? :yikes:

Ride what you want

I will be 59 in about a month. I just bought an RT-S and just got back from the owners event. I also ride a 2009 Aprilia RSV1000 (the Spyders polar opposite) and a Harley. I like all of the safety features of the Spyders. I say don't let anyone tell you what to ride and you will always enjoy the ride. People who have no idea what they are talking about always seem to want to give you their opinion.

This isn't to make anyone feel old. However, I am curious which one of us is the youngest? I'm 31 but do not own a Spyder (yet). Everyone EXCEPT Spyder owners tell me I am too young to buy one. Though, my sister-in-law's boyfriend, an '08 GS owner, says I am too young for the RT and that I should get an RS/S.

Does anyone get hassled for their age and owning a Spyder? I don't care what anyone thinks/will think but I am curious :D

I'm 26...bought my Spyder when I was 23. I've had no issues though, only thing is I get more attention from older guys than women! Lol

I know a 15 or 16 year old that's supposed to get one this summer.......young man from Missouri.........;-)

So who among us would be willing to give up their Spyder, if any age and health issues that forced a look in this direction, were absent? :dontknow:

i am vertically challanged so the spyder is a much better fit for me. however had i even known they made spyders before i bought my harley i would have never bought tge harley. But i would have bought it because is so fricking cool! not because i am short :)

I am 46, and just bought the RTS. This is my first foray into motorcycles for the road.
I took the two wheel course, and may eventually buy a two wheel bike, but I have real reasons for buying a spyder over a goldwing etc.
1) Safety: in slow speed
2) visibility: And any 2 wheeler that wants to comment will be told that a car will run into him while looking at me on the Spyder
3) Well, its just darn cool! I could ride a touring 2 wheeler, but I prefer 3 wheels. Especially when my daughter is on board.

So old vs. Young to me is irrelevant, but I am curious as well about the demographics. I was not forced to ride a Spyder...I choose to.

:agree: Being five feet wide up front creates a presense on the highway that is tough for even the blindest of "cage wranglers" to ignore...

...but still not impossible... :yikes:

We bought an RT-S last year. I'm 36 and my wife is 32. We've never been hassled. We specifically bought the RT because we plan on long trips and ride two up all the time. I know personally I didn't like the fit of the RS for my frame. I figure if it is our money, I'll be damned if some idiot is going to tell me how to feel about my purchase :ohyea: I think even if I were single or the only ryder in the relationship, I'd opt for an RT just for the comfort.

Thats easy to remedy

We bought Teddy's first RT-S back in '10 when I turned 39 cause we were addicted by the AWESOME & UNIQUE looks, being our first motor-bike ever and we promptly headed to Florida on vacation that July

For the above comment, all you need to add is a cute lil dog on the Spyder and see for yourself what happens
