• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Youngest Spyder Owner

This isn't to make anyone feel old. However, I am curious which one of us is the youngest? I'm 31 but do not own a Spyder (yet). Everyone EXCEPT Spyder owners tell me I am too young to buy one. Though, my sister-in-law's boyfriend, an '08 GS owner, says I am too young for the RT and that I should get an RS/S.

Does anyone get hassled for their age and owning a Spyder? I don't care what anyone thinks/will think but I am curious :D

You do what you feel like... I'm 37 (turned last Wednesday) and been on RT's since 2010

I'm 35 and I have a GS with an aftermarket seat tall windshield, highway pegs and most importantly louder hindle exhaust

There's your answer. People who know are speaking from experience. People who don't know? Well, what do they know?

Now, it's up to you.

A survey was run about a year ago asking the age of :spyder2: owners. I believe we had one in their 20's. The largest group was in the 50 plus age. I will try to find the link for the poll--unless someone beats me to it.

EDIT: I cannot find the above mentioned poll in the archives. Help!

You should get the Spyder you want, not what anyone else wants!

If your less than 18 you might be too young... nojoke

Good for you and don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Spyder is not bias to old, young, male, female, skin colors, ethnicity, religion, status, able , disable, poor, wealthy, two wheel rider any brands. We all have the same hope is to ride and ride and ride and have fun and safe. If I missed I'm sure somebody will fill in.

God Bless us all and God Bless America.

PS I only turn 26 this month so don't worry your age.:yes::yes:when I'm standing on my head:roflblack::joke:

Get off mah lawn! ;) :p

50's and a GS owner here in nearby Highlands Ranch. I get hassled for my age. They say aren't I a bit old for sport bikes. Had a cop pull up next to us at a gas station on the way back from Durango. He says to my sweetie "You don't fit the profile"; as she takes her helmet off and hangs it on the bars of her Yamaha FZ6R.

Ride what you want.

Thanks, guys and gals. Like some of you said, and I agree, it isn't about what anyone else thinks. Some people don't get it. Others are jealous, envious, etc.

I am going to go test ride a '13 BMW K1600GTL tonight. Just to see. I used to work at BMW of Denver and one of my old co-workers (tech at the time, now a salesman) said I should take one out.

That said, I have a great feeling I'll come back to the Spyder.

37 and ride my RSS

The "Old" comments are just part of being an owner. It's either that or any of the other stupid comments that come out of people's mouths.

Get the RSS and have a blast!!

My wife and I just turned 30. We were both 29 when we bought our RT bavk in October. And I dont give a rip what anyone thinks. I ride the hell outta my bike and I make the payments and thats all that matters!

And I have heard some crap from the guys at work. "When are you gonna get a real bike?" Forgetting that I've owned two wheelers before and rode with these idiots. My response is: "when I'm not comfortable on this one anymore, which by the way, will be two weeks after NEVER!
