• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Windshield. Swapping

I was reading the post earlier regarding the passenger getting a it more wins than wanted and it got curious about getting a second windshield that I could swap out when my wife and I are doing longer road trips? Is the windshield swapping a simple, enough process were this would be an option that I could routinely go back and forth between windshields or is it a more involved process that I would fast get tired of doing?

Any advice appreciated.......

It,s a very simple job. There is a screw on both chrome covers lower you remove then slide covers up and off. Then 4 torx screws and windshield is off.

:agree: Six, and done!
Although it is very handy to have a 2nd person along, to hold onto the windshields while you run the wrenches. nojoke

Two person job

Thanks Joe, Bob also made note of that in his video as well. I liked the idea of putting a soft cloth between the chrome and windshield ahead of loosening and removing items as well as for the reinstall. I can just imagine how upset I'd be if I scratched a new windshield. :gaah:

I have 2 shields and switch them out, but I only do it twice a year. Once in the fall, and once in the spring. I use a stock +4 in the winter months, and a shorter one for when it is warmer.

Same here. I use the BRP RT adjustable vent windshield for most of the year and then switch to a 2010 RT windshield for the winter. The 2010 RT windshield is 27" tall and wider than the standard windshield.
