• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Windshield Curious - anyone know the reasons for making it 2 piece? So narrow?

When I first got my Redrock I just accepted everything on it, but after riding almost two thousand miles, I am getting curious as to why BRP made certain things. I knew right away I needed a wider windshield as I was getting too much wind. LaMonster to the rescue. I ordered the wider shield and I like it. Then I got to wondering about that lower windshield. Does anyone know the reasons for making it two piece? I was also wondering why the sides are so narrow? It appears to me that making the wings on the lower shield flare out more would give you better wind protection. I am not an engineer so I am ignorant of the structural reasons for the making the windshield two pieces and its present shape. Can anyone enlighten me regarding the windshield configuration.

My first time testing an F3 led me to get the very small windshield for my RT and to add an X-Creen to push more air in my direction. So, instead of riding through a hot summer (with a so-called Vented Windshield that only took some of the edge off at best), I was in the wind and loved the experience so much more - hands down it was my favorite mod.

Even the so called vent on my 2020 RT-L didn't come close to giving me the air flow I wanted.

The thing about windshields is that we all want different things from them. What's right for a short rider in California may be completely different to whatever works for a taller rider in Toronto.

I have no idea on the details of the Redrock, but in general, I just find windshields to be such a personal thing, both in terms of who you are, and when and where you are riding.
